I teach sixth-grade in an elementary school building that contains students from varied socio-economic backgrounds. Some students homes are filled with books and they visit the library frequently with their parents to check-out books. Other students, lack a strong reading culture at home and have never even visited the local library. As a reading teacher, I have to find ways to bring quality literature into my classroom.
