Let's Celebrate Creative Kids!
Funded Oct 24, 2023Thank you so much for your generous donations! I am beyond appreciative and excited for our spring art show. I just shared the news with my third grade class and they all cheered! This is also a great opportunity to share with the students the importance of kindness. Thank you again!”

Funded Feb 3, 2023I was incredibly appreciative of your support of our spring art show. We were able to mount, label and hang over 1,000 pieces of art that were created by our students in grades K - 4. Every student was represented in this show.
I loved watching the children excitedly lead their parents through the colorful hallways. The children were beaming and the parents were so proud as they photographed their child with their work. I couldn't have been more proud of all of the hard work displayed throughout the year. Thank you for helping to create this magical moment.”

Funded Aug 30, 2022As I prepare for the first day with my students, I am going to speak about your example of kindness and generosity. I am so happy to have these materials available for the kids to do some self-exploration. They are always thrilled when they are allowed to use their creativity while having fun. Thank you so much for supporting my classroom and kids!”

Funded Mar 31, 2021I cannot thank you enough for supplying my students with a variety of art materials as most of them returned to school last April. Most of my classroom supplies were sent home with the students so they could keep creating while working remotely. As we returned to school, I was worried about we would use for art class. I wanted the kids to be excited to have a real art class experience again. Your donation gave the kids (and myself) pure joy and excitement. It is amazing what paint and paper can do to lift young spirits! It was also a great lesson about generosity and kindness. This was not lost on the kids.
With these new supplies (which we are still using), we have completed several projects including oil pastel donuts, fall leaves, lighthouse paintings, and so many more. You also gave us a great start to this school year. We are making up for lost time and jumping right in! Thank you for shedding some light on a very difficult time.”

Funded Mar 23, 2021I can't describe the joy that markers, a basic art supply, brought to my students. It's no surprise that remote learning was difficult for so many reasons. By the spring, I had given almost all of my classroom supplies to the students so they would have something to create with at home. Remote art was losing its luster. A shipment of new markers was just what we needed to add some excitement back into our art classes.
We were able to complete projects where the students drew butterflies and turned the markers into paints, completed spring flowers projects, radial name designs and so much more. Our artwork was full of color once again!
We are still using these markers now that we are back in the art room. We started the school year by making styrofoam leaf prints, line designs, and autumn landscapes. We will continue to use these supplies well into the school year!”

Funded Oct 11, 2020Thank you for choosing to support my students while they continue to work remotely. I was beyond excited to pack paper, markers, and paints into their supply bags and I can't explain how happy they were when they received them. Many of the kids do not have any supplies at home and it has been a struggle to complete work. Art class has not been what it is supposed to be.
Since receiving the new materials, we were able to make Matisse cut out collages, winter birch trees, bee hives, Elmer the Patchwork Elephant and so many more great projects. It's wonderful to see the kids creating again!
I also want to say thank you for teaching the lessons of kindness and generosity. I was able to tell the kids that people donated to their education without even knowing them and they were amazed. I hope they will pass this on. Your generosity and thoughtfulness is greatly appreciated.”

Mrs. Dixon
Add Some Color to Our Remote Learning!
Funded Sep 16, 2020The kids and I are doing our best to make remote learning educational and fun and you were a big part of that! The kids were excited to have new materials in their supply bags that would allow them to keep creating and adding color to their projects.
Because of these materials and your generosity, we were able to study the color wheel and practice color mixing. This is one of the favorite activities for the kids. We made color wheels with paint, colored pencils and model magic and transformed them into eyes, ladybugs, and mousepaint pictures. We also were able to make winter art projects such as polar bears and winter gnomes.
More importantly, you taught my students a lesson about kindness. That is above all art lessons and so needed today. Thank you for believing in my kids and shining some light in a tough time.”

Mrs. Dixon

Funded Sep 10, 2020Your generosity means even more to me and my students during this time as we navigate remote learning. My students do not have art materials at home and most do not have the means to acquire them. Packing markers, paints, colored pencils, model magic and more into these bags brings me joy and has been a highlight for the kids.
Your donation has allowed us to add color and excitement to our art projects. We drew Mo Willem's pigeon, made Irish landscapes, hot air balloons, Mr. Seahorse, cityscapes and more. We had a feeling of normalcy and we have you to thank.
Most importantly, you taught my students a lesson of kindness. They were so appreciative and in awe that people who did not know them were willing to donate to their education. That is a lesson that will not be forgotten.”

Mrs. Dixon
Creative Kids!
Funded May 6, 2020As you may know, this school year looks unlike any other. It has been incredibly difficult as we prepared to transition to remote teaching. One bright spot was preparing the supply bags for my 500 students. Your donation was such a gift that has allowed us to have fun and be creative even when not in the classroom together.
The kids were beyond excited when they realized that we had received new supplies. It was such a powerful lesson about kindness. We immediately made paint trays for the students to take home along with the sulphite paper. The 4th grade students made beautiful lighthouse seascapes while the 3rd grade students made stunning autumn trees inspired by Picasso and cubism.
I can now continue to plan lessons with the materials provided. Construction paper and glue sticks will allow the younger students to make mosaics while all classes will enjoy painting. Thank you again for helping to put smiles on the faces of my students.”

Mrs. Dixon

Funded Jun 7, 2019A cheer erupted in class today when we heard our classroom door swing open and a cart full of art supplies were wheeled in! There were a lot of excited "ooohs" and "aaaahs" as I unpacked the boxes. What a treat to start our school year with fresh supplies that will allow us to start creating immediately.
My fourth grade students have started a collaborative city projects using the black Sharpie markers for textured buildings and the tempera paint for the sky. My first grade students read two pigeon books by Mo Willems. They followed up the story by drawing the pigeon on drawing paper and tracing with Sharpies.
This year, I will be lesson planning based on artists from around the world. Next week, I will begin teaching my students about artists from Spain such as Miro, Picasso, Dali and Gaudi. I am excited to have plenty of paper, paints, and other supplies to complete these projects!”
