I am a Special Education teacher working in a third grade ICT classroom in a Title I (high poverty) school. As a teacher, it is my job to help my students be the best they can be. I also believe it is important for my students to understand that being an avid reader is the key to their success. I have a classroom of 31 students. 40% of my students are Special Needs students. They all LOVE to read. They are always asking to go to the classroom library to shop for books for their book baggies. They eagerly search for books that interest them and are on their level.
