  • Basic Classroom Items and Learning Tools

    Funded Feb 10, 2021

Thank you for all the donations that made this project possible. We spend more time in our little room than we do sometimes our own home. It's a special place to many of us.

Every single item that I received has a special place in our classroom. Most of the stuff gets used daily. Some of the items may not get used every day but does make our life easier when we to need to use it.

Basic school supplies for teachers and students are like gold. They make out every day so much easier. Thank you once again for your generosity.”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Diaz

  • Books: A Journey Into Imagination!

    Funded Mar 31, 2023

My first graders and I wanted to thank you for the book donation you made to our classroom library. Although not big, it is an area we frequent often throughout the week. It is an area where we socialize if we want to or simply chill out on the pillows.

My students very quickly realized that we had some new additions to our library and eagerly checked them out. Every week they choose and read new books. They love taking turns visiting the library, picking the coolest book, logging it on their book log and beginning a new journey!”

  • Magnetic Whiteboards Make Learning Fun and Immersive

    Funded Jul 20, 2023

I cannot begin to express to you what a wonderful asset the magnetic whiteboard has been to our classroom. It has been the best teaching and learning tool that I have used this year because it is so versatile.

Our magnetic white board is the center of our classroom. Aside from using it to work out math problems and brainstorming ideas, we use it from the minute we walk into the classroom as part of our morning routine. Every morning we go over the month, the day and the year. We not only display the date with cards, we also write it out to show different ways it can be presented. The kids also keep a tally on how many days we have been in school. That's their favorite! The board is also used to display visual reminders on what steps the students are expected to do on assignments. During our lessons we use magnetic manipulatives to make learning more fun and interactive.

Thank you, from a very happy teacher, for all the donations that made our magnificent magnetic whiteboard possible.”

  • Give Our Classroom a Boost of SHELF-esteem

    Funded Jul 10, 2023

Our classroom shelf has been the perfect addition to our classroom. Inside we store our very beloved manipulatives. It is the hub where students go to to find our morning tubs or center tubs.

On the upper shelves where the children do not reach, we safely store many of our community supplies. This has helped us stay organized. It has also given us a safe place to keep items that are important to us. The outside is used just as much as the inside. Being that our bookshelf is made of metal, we have attached items such as a mirror, a calendar and hanging bins for easy access to more items.

Thank you once again for all the donations that made our shelf possible!”

  • If You're Hungry in My Class...Grab a Snack

    Funded Mar 12, 2021

Thank you for taking the time to donate to our project. This project helped my students get through their state assessments during a really rough year. All the items were made easily accessible for the students to grab and help themselves to.

The students could not believe that we had all of these goodies just for us. They were very excited to get a treat any time they needed a pick me up. They were also very curious as to how these treats were received and it served as a perfect opportunity to discuss generosity with them.

Thank you one again donors for contributing to our classroom project and helping it get funded. It definitely made an impact on many little lives.”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Diaz

  • Think Outside the Treasure Box

    Funded Dec 1, 2020

Thank you so very much for your generous donation towards my project. The tools and materials received have helped me provide a classroom environment that is more fun and welcoming for my students. In addition to this, the office supplies always make me feel prepared and confident. I always have everything ready to go. One of the most enjoyed items by my students is the lava lamp. They never forget to remind me to turn it on. I believe it relaxes them and I am here all for it. Aside from this, they look forward to the treasure box every single week.”

  • Hello? Hello? Can You Hear Me?

    Funded Aug 13, 2020

This year has been a year different from any other. Normally, iPads are great tools that the students can use to help them throughout their school day. This year, however, things are very different. First of all, more than half of my students are virtual learners. They are solely learning from home. The rest of my students are in class with me, but as part of our Covid safety guidelines, we are unable to share any classroom materials. This includes the iPad and headphones.

However, the iPad could not have come at a better time. When school first started and I was teaching remotely from home I used the iPad as a document cam. I used the headphones to block out unwanted noise in my house. The iPad was very useful when I had to display certain assignments for the students to see or when they had to watch me complete the steps. Once I was back in the classroom I used the iPad to assign points via ClassDojo. I also used it to store my notes that I needed for each lesson.

The students have not been able to use the iPad yet, but it has been an incredibly useful tool to have as I have taught both virtually and in person.”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Diaz

The tools being requested will be used in two different ways. First, they will help enhance my student's virtual learning experience by providing me with updated technology to use as I teach them from home. The headset and iPad will help me interact and engage my students during distant learning. Once we are able to return to the classroom, we will be following a HYBRID model. Some students will physically be in class, while some remain at home. I will continue using the items in ways that will benefit ALL my students. The iPad will be used to share interactive activities with students during this virtual time. Once materials can be shared again, students will use it as a tool to enrich their learning while making it fun using technology. They can access virtual manipulatives for math, listen to audiobooks, play educational games ... the possibilities are ENDLESS!
