  • Technology for Third Grade

    We are grateful that we can use our Chromebooks in the classroom on a daily basis. Our students have been working on iReady for Math, using them to complete research and have even practiced coding with them. These programs enhance our lessons and provide an interactive method of learning for the students.

    The students enjoy being responsible for the laptops, keeping them clean and charging them. They also truly enjoy that the Chromebooks are touchscreen, it makes everything a bit more fun.

    I have students asking every day to practice their math fluency on a Chromebook whenever there is a free moment. We are extremely appreciative of your donation.”

    Our students continue to use the materials donated through "Maker Space Fun With Financial Literacy! Part 3" every day. We have been able to use Osmo Learning games to our math lessons and even our small math groups.

    Students are always eager to use the Osmo Learning system and any technology they have access to. They are excited to share with each other and work together every day. They always ask to use the iPad, headphones and Osmo games. They find a way to tie it into lessons we are currently learning in class. They also enjoy using the Magna-tiles when they have to an opportunity to.

  • Microsoft Surface on the GO!

    Funded May 22, 2019

    Thank you for your donation, it has made a huge impact in our classroom. Technology is a tool that we can use in a variety of ways to learn. Students work on iReady for math and reading, Reflex, to gain math fact fluency and plenty of other ways. It is wonderful to have access to the Microsoft Surface whenever we need to complete research or work on a coding project.

    Having a computer that is touchscreen is exciting for the students. It is also extremely portable and easy to move around our classroom to work with for small groups or even with a partner. Student enjoy have access to the tablet and use is on a daily basis.

  • Learning Financial Literacy Through Technology

    Funded May 16, 2019

    Having the opportunity to add technology tools into our classroom is invaluable. Students can access educational programs that work on math, science, social studies, coding and much more. In our school, we have 2 desktop computers in our classroom. In a class with 21 students, we gladly welcome a new Chromebook. Students have worked in groups to complete research, they have created on Code.org among other things. Having an easily accessible Chromebook allows the students to grab it and have the internet at their fingertips!

    A new computer in our classroom always creates excitement and eagerness to learn. I have students coming in early to class asking to work on iReady. They truly enjoy using the Chromebook and love that it is also a touchscreen device.

With this technology, they will be engaging in thought-provoking inquiry opportunities. Working together, conducting research and presenting information are all skills necessary to be a success in and out of the classroom. With these technology tools, we will be able to enrich, differentiate and challenge students. We are working hard on educating our future. Technology is a key factor in our learning. It is imperative to integrate it into our classroom and use it for learning potential. By incorporating Chromebooks and an iPad in our classroom environment, students will be able to work in small groups on activities that are tailored specifically to their needs and abilities. Also, by having access to them, we will be making technology part of our everyday learning! I want to our children to feel confident, excited, and eager to play, explore and learn as they interact with technology on a daily basis.
