My goal is to recreate my space to reflect a 21st Century classroom. Our district has provided really good technology to our students. New furniture options will help students comfortably work on long-term projects. Diffused lighting will help them stay focused without strain. Educational toys, like animals that fit into tiny hands, will help bring our Animal Classification Unit to life. Retro toys, like Lite Brite and a puppet theatre, is so unlike the toys my students are used to and will not only add novelty to my space, but they will learn at the same time! I need to create a space where students can move freely around the classroom, working alone or as part of a cooperative group. This space will allow students with different learning styles find success. Inspiration is key!
