We have a diverse group of students who frequently need breaks, although they still work hard. They need an atmosphere where they can truly thrive – an atmosphere that creates a positive and encouraging culture. One where students can collaborate and work together. Flexible seating allows students to take charge of their learning and make the choices that work best for them. When working independently or with a small group, students are given the choice of where they want to work. It could be at different tables throughout the room, under a table with Christmas lights, on pillows, or sitting under desks. Having a comfortable environment for students to work is essential in motivating them to do their best. I am always amazed at the culture produced by allowing students to choose where they want to work. They become more involved and usually make good choices about who they sit near. My students are extremely more engaged in their work, and disruptions are rare when they are given the choice to move around. The products I have selected will give my students' additional seating options to make learning more effective. The stools will allow students to sit at various locations throughout the room, as they are lightweight and easy to move. They can also work with me at the big back table on these stools. They will be extremely beneficial for some students that just need to move somewhere else to concentrate. The amazing saucer seats will allow for additional comfortable seating options to motivate students to do their best. Student choice is key! Allowing students to choose where they sit and having plenty of options will make all the difference in my students thriving within and beyond my classroom!
