• Teaching Like a Pro

  This iPad has made a huge difference in our classroom! I am able to mirror our lesson from my iPad onto our ActivPanel. This allows me to continue scrolling, writing, or drawing on my iPad while I walk around and assist students. I am also using the iPad for assessing students. The iPad has taken the place of many tools that I normally use in the classroom. One example is using wooden popsicle sticks to choose student names. This allows for equal opportunity for participation. I tend to knock them onto the floor, or we may lose a popsicle stick here and there. Now we use an app on the iPad that chooses student names, and our problem is solved! This is just one example of the many apps that have been added to aide our classroom in running smoothly in a very tumultuous year!

• Back to Basics

  These supplies have been amazing for our classroom. Our district supplies students with disposable face masks, but they are just so big on our littles. The kid-sized version is a PERFECT fit! So many students have been unable to bring their own supplies. This project has allowed me to supply them with binders and zipper pouches to hold materials for daily use.

  The Teachers Pay Teachers gift card has been a lifesaver for getting new resources to support our learners. I am able to print readers for students to take home, as well as learning games purchased from TPT.

• B is for Books

  My students are absolutely loving these books! We have incorporated many of the books into our curriculum themes. Some of the books are great for building character and learning rules, such as The Recess Queen. We have also been using the books to learn how to become writers and grow our imagination. We are currently reading the books about plants while we get ready to grow our own plants in the classroom. The books have been extremely helpful in building excitement and growing student engagement in the classroom during a stressful year.

• Learning After Laura

  These bags have been a life saver for our students! We returned to our classroom and have been face-to-face, but we have to constantly be prepared for a student or entire class to quarantine at any time. These bags were stuffed with the cards, pencils, playdough, and other materials and sent home with students. Now if any student is quarantined without having the opportunity to gather supplies, they have this wonderful bag waiting for them at home! The parents are grateful to have the supply bag so they aren't having to try to find materials for students. I'm thankful to know that my students have anything they could possibly need for learning at home!

• Comfy, Safe, and Fun!

  Our students use these cushions every day! The soft cushions are a hot commodity that the students race to grab every morning. The inflatable cushions are a life saver for the students who just need an outlet for the "wiggles." Sitting in the same seat all day is a struggle!

  The fun glasses are a great way to engage students in learning to read. Students love to put them on to "help them learn to read better." The teacher wins because students are working hard on improving reading skills!

• Sir Prints-a-Lot

  Funded May 6, 2020

  This printer has been a life saver for our classroom! It has enabled me to print learning packets for students who do not have access to the internet. The students enjoy being able to practice skills with games and activities printed in color, versus a plain, boring workbook.

  It has also allowed me to print extra practice packets for students who are struggling after missing half of their year in pre-k last year. You wouldn't think that kids could possibly come to kindergarten and be "behind" their peers, but many have not even had an opportunity to color or hold a pencil outside the classroom. This printer has given me the ability to send fun, colorful activity sheets and games home to build skills.

• STEM in K!

  Funded May 6, 2020

  My students are having a blast with the STEM materials this year! The Lego table is probably the favorite of every single student. I'm amazed at the creativity each student is able to show with a basket of basic Lego building blocks.

  The students are also enjoying the marble engineering activity. They have learned so much about motion and cause and effect without being subjected to a teacher lecturing or simply watching a video on motion. They get to learn about it in an interactive hands-on manner.
