I teach 4th grade in an elementary school. It is a high-need community with over 98% of our student population qualifying for free lunch. Money in the budget set aside for supplies was reduced substantially, so the basics are provided but little else. Technology in our school has improved but still lags behind those schools in more affluent communities and with charter schools that have surfaced in our own community. To help our students obtain the skills necessary to be college and career ready, we need additional support from caring donors.
