Hot Off the Press - Student Work in Color Print!
Funded Feb 19, 2020Thank you for your generous donations! As always, I am so appreciative of your quick response to my request. My printer was running low on ink and I needed the ink to print texts for class. The ink came quickly and I was able to use it for the short while before we shut down.
Fortunately, when we came back in the fall, I was able to use the ink to prepare necessary work for our students. It is always so nice to be able to print in color. These supplies are still being put to use and will come in handy as we return in the fall of 2021.
Thank you for supporting our students!”

A Window Into the Ancient World!
Funded Apr 11, 2021Thank you for your generous donations. Your contributions have given me access to Study.com, a resource I have had my eye on for years. This website has informative texts, videos and quizzes which cover all of the units I cover in my class. The topics are covered in depth and offer texts on topics which we debate in class such as the causes for the fall of Rome.
Students are now able to watch a video on a topic and have a copy of the transcript so they can review the important ideas. The website posts quizzes so students can check their understanding and get immediate feedback.
These resources will benefit students for years to come!
Thank you for making this possible!”

Funded Dec 15, 2018Thank you for your generous donation! My students and I are so happy with our Epson printer. They are touched knowing that you donated your money to buy this for us.
We have been using the printer every day. My students are so happy that they can now have their color work printed in the classroom. It is such a relief for my students who cannot print at home. It is helpful for me because I can now make copies on this printer. When we run out of materials in class, I can provide the students with what they need right away.
Soon our students will be typing their argumentative paper on whether or not they think Alexander the Great was great or not. The students enjoy adding pictures to their work and love seeing the images in color. I will be able to print their papers and display them on our bulletin board!
Thank you again for your very generous donations!”

Students Hard at Work!
Funded Nov 4, 2018Thank you for purchasing ink for our classroom! My students and I truly appreciate your donation. We have printer in our classroom, but we frequently need to replenish our ink. Your donations have supplied us for the rest of the year!
In a couple of weeks, my students will be typing their papers on whether or not Alexander the Great was truly great. Some of my students do not have working printers at home and need to print their papers in school. It is such a relief for my students to know that their papers can be printed in class.
I cannot thank you enough for your generosity. I always share these contributions with my students and they are very moved that we have such a supportive community. They are impressed that people from all over make donations to our class. Thank you for your thoughtfulness!”

Developing Photographers!
Funded Jan 26, 2018I cannot thank you enough for your generous donations! The students in Photography Club LOVE using the new camera. Last week, we focused on how to use aperture. Before we had this camera, students would notice when a part of their shot was blurry. They often liked the effect, but never understood how it happened. They were so excited to learn how to control for this.
The students are passionate about taking pictures and are so creative. It was very limiting for them to only have their phones. With the new Canon camera, they are able to really learn photography. I am so excited to teach them about shutter speed. They will be able to combine this with some of what they have learned about lighting.
Thank you for giving our students the chance to pursue and develop their passion! They were so touched when I told them that the camera had been donated. This camera will be used regularly!”

Flipped Videos Make Learning Fun!
Funded Oct 17, 2017Thank you so much for your generous donations! The headphones arrived are are great! The students have been using them on a regular basis. They are very sturdy and great for middle school students.
As I mentioned, this year I am flipping my classroom. This means that some of their homework requires watching a video that I produce on a specific topic. To insure that all students have access to the technology, I allow students to listen to the videos during their recess period in my classroom. Now that they have these fabulous headphones, they can do this with ease!
Your donations have made this transition so much easier for us. We are very happy to have them! Thank you!”

Research and Writing!
Funded Sep 20, 2017Thank you so much for your generous donations. We received the chrome books and have been using them on a regular basis. They are very sturdy -- great for middle school students! Often the students who use the new chrome books brag that they have the "good ones".
As I mentioned, this year, I am flipping my classroom. This means that some of the homework assignments require the students to watch a video or a PowerPoint presentation. They are able to complete this during study hall or lunch. Now they can use these fabulous chrome books to complete the work.
In a couple of weeks, students will be starting their research projects on India. They will choose a research question and will present their findings to the class and their parents. Since we now have a full set of chrome books, this project will be executed with ease!
Thank you so much!! You have made 110 sixth graders and one teacher very happy!”

Having Access To Our Class Information!
Funded Apr 9, 2017Thank you for your generous donations! The easel, borders and laminating supplies are being put to great use. The easel is a great place for students to work when they need their own space. It is very also useful for posting class directions so students can read from both the front and back of the room.
Now that we have a small portable laminator, it has reduced my need to reprint class handouts and texts. Now, the materials are durable. The students find it easier to work with the materials once they have been laminated. The materials are easier to keep neat and keep track of.
I cannot thank you enough for thinking of our classroom and responding to our needs. My students and I truly appreciate it!”

Creating a Medieval Newspaper
Funded Mar 30, 2017Thank you for your generosity. My students are eagerly working on their Medieval newspapers and I can't wait to start printing them. They have researched famous people and events, unique aspects of their daily lives and are currently creating advertisements. We are so appreciative of your contribution. Students can print their work in class and in color!
While they were eagerly doing their research, the students continually needed to sharpen their pencils. I can't tell you how much they appreciate their electric sharpener. Of all the supplies and tools we have, the sharpener is the most used item in my room. They love having sharp pencils. The hand held pencil sharpeners are time consuming and messy. The new electric sharpener has made their lives so much easier.
Thank you for your thoughtfulness and kindness!! You have made many sixth graders and one teacher very happy!”

Seeing the World Through Their Eyes!
Funded Dec 5, 2016My students and I thank you for your generous donations. Our school has started our first ever photography club and several of our students do not have their own cameras. The cameras you helped purchase will be used by our students. This gives them the chance to grow in their understanding of photography. Students will learn and practice framing a picture, working with light and shutter speeds.
We had our first session and the students are so excited to learn and share. I was thrilled to see how eager and talented they are. The theme of our club is "Seeing the World Through Our Eyes". When I asked our students what they want to show others through their photography, many wrote they want people to see the beauty in the world. They will have the opportunity to do this because of you.”

Mrs. Breach
