  • Hygiene Help

    Funded Nov 15, 2018

Thank you for helping us with hygiene! It is impossible to believe that some students don't have access to the basics like deodorant, soap, shampoo, tooth brushes, tooth paste, body wash, and laundry detergent. How can you feel best when you don't feel clean?

Students love having the resource of shopping for their hygiene supplies in my resource cabinet. They can pick which shampoo, body wash, or other items they would like. Having a personal choice in personal hygiene is important.

You have helped students feel confident and empowered to do their best. Your impact reaches home, school, and our community. We cannot thank you enough.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Bishop

  • Scholars Need Success Supplies

    Funded Sep 6, 2018

Thank you so much for your contribution to the classroom. Students are so grateful to have supplies provided. It takes a load off students and gives them one less thing to stress about.

Students were so excited to have their own folders and notebooks. They like the ease of accessing supplies when they need them. Everyone has equitable access to supplies and feels confident.

Students feel seen when all the basic needs are supplied. They do not need to worry about where things will come from or who will provide them. You are taking an incredible load off students and we are so grateful.”

  • Basic Needs Bonanza

    Funded May 17, 2018

Your generosity have filled our bellies and our hearts! Your donation has helped my students feel full and loved in so many ways. I am able to provide snacks and other needed items when students need it.

Students have been able to take extra food home for the weekend. This donation has great because students have gotten a say in what snack or meal they take. It has given them some choice and control in a difficult situation.

We have so many wonderful options to fill their bellies and get them ready to learn. Thank you, thank you, thank you!”

    With gratitude,

  • Pack the Pantry

    Funded Aug 22, 2018

Thank you for helping us pack our pantry! We were able to give many non perishable meals to kiddos for the weekends! Kids have been sent home with pasta and marinara sauce, macaroni and cheese, rice, peanut butter and jelly, and other ready to go meals.

These meals make a huge difference for our families and our students. Many students rely on our pantry to get through the weekend with full bellies and hearts. Students look forward to getting their pantry bag and knowing their family will have food for the weekend.

I cannot thank you enough for taking this burden off the children!”

  • Budding Junior Entrepreneurs

    Funded Oct 12, 2018

This project has been a HUGE, GIGANTIC deal in my classroom. My students are so proud of their business, Boys and Girls Power. They are being seen as leaders in their community. Teachers have been sharing how these students are sharing joy all over the school.

These scholars created a business to deliver treats to teachers on Wednesdays. They wanted to make people happy, specifically their teachers. We made a brochure and individually passed them out telling each teacher about our business. They each applied for a job and came up with the responsibilities required by the job.

Boys and Girls Power has served between 12 and 20 teachers a week! We have made over $100 to purchase new basketball hoops for the playground. They feel like leaders in their classrooms. They are applying math in real world ways and are looking forward to doing the math. this has been an important experience for all of them.

Seeing them progress has made me so proud. Donors like you made this possible!”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Bishop

  • We Want Real Books!

    Funded Oct 18, 2017

Thank you for the donation of books. Our students love reading real books! From the covers to the backs, they have beautiful pictures and captions. (And they are not from the copier!)

Reading in our classroom is more fun and engaging now. Your donation helped us by high quality reading materials that our students cannot wait to read. We were able to buy books at our highest need reading levels to help our students grow in their reading skills.

Our second graders especially have enjoyed the books about animals! They cannot wait to open the covers and get started.”

  • Full Stomachs Give Us Ready Minds

    Funded Sep 29, 2017

Thank you for giving my students full stomachs! This may not seem like an educational need but my students need their basic needs met. Your snacks and quick meals have gone a long way to giving my students safety in knowing their basic needs will be met.

Students smiled when they could ask for a snack and have it consistently provided. Some students were able to come get soup or oatmeal for lunch when they had an overdue lunch balance. I am grateful I was able to offer students nutritious food due to your generosity.

I saw student comfort and trust go up ten fold because they realized their needs could be met in a safe environment.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Bishop

  • Making Writing Pop!

    Funded Sep 26, 2017

Thank you for the supplies to make writing more fun! Your donations help bring our writing to the digital age. Students used the materials provided to complete in depth reports on African American inventors. They were so proud of their work!

Students could not wait to rip the boxes open and get everything set up.

Our next project is going to be to work on brochures about me to pass on to their next teacher. These brochures will allow next year's teacher to get to know these fantastic learners ahead of time.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Bishop
