  • Have a Seat

    My Kindergarten class would like to thank you for donating to our fundraiser "Have a Seat" which provided individual seat pouches for each child in my classroom. We do not have cubbies or lockers, only coat-hooks and a shelf in the hallway. These pouches gave each student a person space to store their belongings needed every day in the classroom: pencil boxes, clipboards, folders, etc.

    Everyone was excited when they arrived and couldn't wait to use them! Now they take pride in how organized our classroom looks.

I like to have a variety of seating options for students to choose from while working, including lap desks, bean bags, multi-seat tables, etc. While everyone does have a designated seat, I also have a whole group instruction area where we gather on the carpet for discussions or a big-screen technology-based lesson. Plants are an important part of our environment. It gives students an opportunity to care for something, as well as helping to create a calming space.
