  • Mrs. B's Books and Nooks

    Funded Aug 4, 2021

Thank you for your generous donation to my classroom. These items have added a much needed improvement to my class library and reading area. My students love coming to class and I have even gotten compliments from other teachers. Other students, have even commented that they wish their classroom looked like mine. I was able to create a cozy space and add some awesome books to my growing library. Thanks for helping me make my classroom a truly warm and inviting place for students to learn. My students and I appreciate your gift.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Barkocy

  • Mrs. B's Books & Bins

    Funded Jul 18, 2018

Thank you so much for all of the donations you provided for our classroom. Students were itching to get our new books out and start reading! I am so excited for them. Many of the supplies also contributed to having more math games and hands-on manipulatives ready to go in class. The biggest part of your donation has gone to creating independence with each of my students. I believe in students picking their own interest for books. The books that came in have grown my library and given them more choices! I was able to teach the students about all the different genres of books and then we sorted our new collection by genre. Also, I was able to get all of my STEM Bins started and going in class. My students have loved creating new things out of all of our supplies. Your donation contributed in a massive way. Thank you for supporting education, my classroom, my students.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Barkocy

The books are a definite need for my classroom. I have slowly been able to purchase books with my own money to add some high-interest books to my library. However, after becoming a mom, I am no longer able to do that. I feel that having a wide-variety of grade level options will increase my students' love for reading. Science is very important to me. The craft supplies (playdough, popsicle sticks, dots, plastic bins, etc.) will go together to help me create STEM Bins. The idea for these bins came from a Science teacher in Oklahoma. With these bins, I can encourage students to grow through hands-on exploration and inquiry. My district has very little funding for curriculum in Science and I feel this will help grow my limited resources for this subject. The dice, counters, and other math manipulatives are going to grow my resources for Math. I am a teacher that LOVES to encourage skill building through collaboration and games. These items will help provide the pieces to make my Math centers and skill building for efficient and fun.
