  • Badminton: Eye-Hand Coordination

    Funded Jan 24, 2020

I am so overwhelmed with gratitude with your generosity for our badminton unit. Before we left school, we briefly were able to use the rackets and birdies. The students enjoyed them immensely! The smiles on their faces were priceless as they were introduced to the game.

Our badminton unit will have to be put on hold until next year. I am using this time at home to create a rigorous unit that will motivate the students to want play badminton for many more years. It involves many cardio activities that will increase eye hand coordination. I am sure the students will fall in love with the game.”

  • Jump, Jump, Everybody says Jump Jump!

    Funded Mar 27, 2018

It has really been so nice to see most of my students active and loving the playing time they have with the new equipment! Students that would normally sit out or have "nothing to do" now run out to recess and beg for the Chinese jump ropes. I have taught students new basketball games to get them more involved in playing.

The new basketball equipment has brought smiles and laughter to the school yard along with some friendly competition. I have seen students help each other on their shooting skills as well as passing skills. The new Chinese jump ropes have had the students help and create new routines.

    Thank you for your generosity!”

  • Shoot, Score, Win as a Team!

    Funded Oct 11, 2017

I can't thank my donors enough for your generosity! The new basketballs have had a real impact on the student's motivation to play and practice their skills on the outdoor basketball courts. More students have been getting involved in playing basketball.

My students were very excited to receive new basketballs and equipment. They have already started using the basketballs for drills during recess to become better ball players. About 20/30 boys and girls get have gotten together with very little assistance and have created a positive recess atmosphere built on respect for each Other's abilities. They change leaders to be in charge of the "practice" and the rest follow along with the different drills. As a result players are respecting each other's ideas and helping teammates understand the game more.”

  • Pass, Shoot, Score!!!

    Funded Feb 28, 2017

My students are loving the new soccer balls. We started our unit this week and they are loving it. Their skill level has already increased because with more equipment they have had more practice time. They are also motivated to play with the balls that are all different colors. Soccer is a great way for them to come together and teach each other about their home countries. They like to use the ball that matches the colors in their flags and they like to pretend that they are players from their favorite teams.

Thank you so much for all of your generosity!!!”

  • Side Out!

    Funded Aug 25, 2016

My students and I are very appreciative of your generosity with the donation of the volleyballs to our project. The students are excited to design their own drills and create modified games to help progress their skill level for game play. They have started practicing their volleyball skills so that when we begin the volleyball unit in January, they can have more time to plan and design drills that will individually help each player on the team.

Their ideas on how to create a positive team atmosphere are very developed for their age. I feel that the students also have realized how lucky they are and as a result feel very fortunate!”

  • Playful Recess!

    Funded Sep 30, 2016

Funding this project has had a real impact on the students in my school during recess. We have found that in the last couple of weeks that the students have been using the new equipment, there have been less altercations between classmates and more physical activity through game play. Students are excited to play new activities such as Frisbee toss and Chinese jump ropes. They love playing basketball in the schoolyard as well. Through organized recess playtime, my students are much more active and happy. Thank you so much!!!”

  • Motivate, Educate, Move!

    Funded Nov 5, 2014

This year has been extraordinary! With all of the new challenges facing teachers and students, having new equipment made my job a lot easier. Students were instantly motivated to play basketball, badminton and soccer seeing the new, bright colored balls. The were more attentive and focused to learn the skills needed to play games. Of course, with the new common core learning standards, I was able to incorporate Ela and Math into my lessons while they played with the new equipment.

I can't thank you enough for your generosity to help my cause of fighting childhood obesity and creating lifelong learners of fitness and health education!”

  • Get Moving!

    Funded Dec 19, 2012

First off, saying thank you doesn't describe the feelings I have of generous gifts!!! Our new IPOD has made a huge difference with motivating our students. They are more livelier and ready to move.

I was able to introduce my fitness students to new activities. Many of these activities such as step aerobics and kickboxing have become very exciting. I have been teaching many new workout routines with the help of this donation.

The donation of an IPOD to my fitness class has made a huge impact! Students are motivated to move and in the long run will be impact their lives forever. They will become life long lovers of movement.”

My students live in a high poverty area where school budgets have been cut drastically, which means that I have oversized Physical Education classes. Many students are grossly obese and are need of immediate help. They don't have the money or tools to help themselves become more healthy.
