  • Eat, Create and be Merry!

    Funded Mar 11, 2022

Thank you so much for the donations of snacks. Most of my students did not eat throughout the day. Being able to provide them food made a difference for so many of my students.

My students were so excited to earn extra privileges and it helped to boost their motivation to finish 8th grade strong. This could not have been possible without your support.

It is my hopes that when my students start their freshmen year they will remember they can trust their teachers to support them and that will help them be successful for years to come.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Andert

Thank you so much for donating and helping my students recover from the impact of Covid-19. These materials will help my students motivation and engagement throughout the year. We are so excited to use these materials in our classroom. I am so thankful that I can give my students a safe place to learn.”

  • Adventure Circles!

    Funded May 8, 2019

Thank you so much for your contributions to my classroom. Your donation has helped my students enjoy reading and build their understanding of character development, plot and so much more. These books have inspired students to treat others better, opened up to their own perspectives, reflect and I have noticed the impact it has has on them. Many of my male students use to hate reading and with showing them series like Hatchet and Among the Hidden they cannot put the book down.

This could not have been possible without your support!”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Andert

  • Happy Historians

    Funded Mar 16, 2021

Thank you for giving me the resources to engage with my students throughout the coronavirus shut downs. Your donations allowed me to access many resources that helped students learn online, by improving engagement and motivation. Many of my students turned on there cameras for the first time and had the confidence to participate, interact and ended their 8th grade year with positive happy memories.

Without your contributions more of my time would have been in gathering material and instead I was able to use it to build relationships with students.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Andert

  • Exciting Interactive Notebooks

    Funded Feb 20, 2019

Thank you so much for donating to our classroom. The last few months my students have used the classroom supplies for various projects.

First, we used the highlighters to annotate texts getting us ready for state testing. Students enjoyed using these during our rotations.

We also enjoyed using them for creating our novel projects. Students were able to identify the elements in a story. From their planning pages they were able to create posters for their "Reading Fair" project. Students worked really hard.

The last thing we have been working on with your help was our poet banners. Students were able to select their poet and then conduct research. Having access to supplies to make them colorful and use there creativity enabled

    Engagement.

We are very thankful for all of your help making these past two months very fun.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Andert

  • Reading is Fun!

    Funded Sep 18, 2018

On behalf of my students I want to thank you so much for the books you have brought to life in our classroom. We are about half way through "Among the Hidden" and the kids are thrilled. So, far we have been focusing on context clues, inference (going beyond the words), main idea, and character analysis.

We have been reading from the book about two times a week and every time it is a reading day they are so excited. Let me tell you getting middle school students excited about reading is a major accomplishment. It is so funny seeing their reaction as the plot unfolds and I am surprised how upset they get when class is over. They just want to keep reading more!

As I mentioned before, the purpose of this project was to inspire some of my students who struggle with reading. Getting them excited about reading has been such a blessing and it could not have happened without all of your support.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Andert

The materials and supplies that I am requesting for my students already have a "home." In other words, I know exactly where everything will go. We just need your help in getting everything through our door! The donations to this project will help to improve my students' understanding of and competency in authentic, meaningful reading! I want to introduce my students to various types of literature and with your support that can become reality. Among the Hidden is an excellent text that will enable my students to think in multiple perspectives. Percy Jackson will allow my students to create and make connections.
