¡Soy Muy Inteligente!
Funded Oct 27, 2018We are so grateful for the Spanish Alphabet Letter sounds bins. We use them at least twice a week for our Spanish Phonics lesson and in our learning centers. The school we teach is a bilingual school, and we have students who are learning Spanish more rapidly thanks to your generous donation to such a helpful product for our students' learning.
Our students literally could not stop smiling when we opened the boxes to our new letter sound bins in Spanish! They wanted to open the bins immediately and play with them.
We plan to use the letter sound bins more often to the point where the students can be more independent in manipulating the pieces so they can become more familiar with them.
Thank you all from the bottom of my heart for your support. We all truly appreciate it!”

Ms. Alvarez

Funded Sep 27, 2018My students were so thrilled to see the big boxes of wooden tracks and dinosaur bones kit! They laid on the floor and just wanted to stare at the box itself. When we finally opened it, they jumped for joy! The language-building, vocabulary and conversations they are using is amazing. And not to mention their fine motor skills and social skills that come along with such great materials. None of this would have been possible without your support and because of you, we are all so grateful! Thanks a million and a million more.
The dinosaurs kit will be perfect when we learn more in depth about measurement in length. I've already witnessed the kids using math vocabulary words in comparison, which is one of the goals in their progress report and in preschool development.
The tracks are kept in our Blocks center where they problem-solve and work together building and creating new paths for their mini-people and cars, that they love so much!”

Funded May 28, 2018My students have been using the new sequencing cards and felt pieces to recall stories. In the pictures sent, my students are engaging in in-depth conversations about what comes first-next-last, helping me gage their understanding of stories and processes of their thinking. It is so great to hear them having age-appropriate conversations about something as simple as the process of 'how to paint,' or 'sharing with a friend,' or 'how to get dressed.' My shy students are starting to come out of their shell because of the new materials. They feel comfortable enough to share what they see, and that to me is the best gift.
I'd like to thank your for all of your donations, this is a wonderful way of helping my students reach their potential as young learners.
This opportunity makes a world of a difference and I cannot thank you enough for your support.”

Funded May 27, 2018Before I opened the box to our new learning toys, I gave my students a kid-friendly explanation of how DonorsChoose works. We are always talking about Stranger-Danger and who's a friend and who's not. It was interesting to see how understanding they were when I explained that it was "strangers" who helps us donate to buy our new toys. They said, "They're the nicest strangers there are, but now they're our friends!"
When we opened the boxes, the smiles on their faces were priceless! I got pictures of them giving thumbs up and laughing with joy. The engagement level and interest is beyond words.
We all would like to give the warmest of thanks from the bottom of our hearts. I am so grateful for this wonderful site to give my students more opportunities to love learning in such a fun way!
Thank you so very much. We are so grateful for your generosity and thoughtfulness!”

Funded Nov 28, 2017My students and I are so grateful for the donations provided to our class! We use the Alphabet Letter Sounds folder everyday, for our literacy component of the day. We practice saying our letters and letter sounds through recognition. The children have so much fun utilizing the materials; great hands-on learning and a great deal of fun.
The Sequence cards folder has come in handy when teaching them about the beginning, middle and ending of stories. The number cards on the back helped them check to see if they were correct or not. This is a great language-builder.
The vocabulary words are a hit with the little ones because they like to see fresh picture cards that are relevant to our themes and units of study. They are building their vocabulary and having a blast with learning new languages all the while!
We cannot thank you enough for the support and opportunities you have given me as a teacher and them as learners now and leaders of the future!
Thank you. Thanks a million.”

Funded Oct 16, 2017Anybody who know anything about kids, knows that kids love to play! As a teacher, a preschool teacher at that, must find ways to make learning as fun as possible to keep students' attention. Every day since we opened our first package with alphabet letter sound bins, my students have not only enjoyed playing with the "toys," but they are learning the letter sounds at a faster rate. For me, as a busy teacher, the letter sound bins have saved me so much time from finding materials or printing pictures of words of our letter of the week. The students thrive and anticipate the letter sounds and quickly pick up the concept of phonetics.
My students and I benefit from our new items in our classroom. There are so many uses for the material. We have a new magnetic, white board and alphabet letter sound bins. For example, we recall previously-taught letter sounds by sorting objects by the plastic letters - Ex. Aa versus Bb: Apple under Aa and Ball under Bb. Another way we use the letter sound bins are by asking students what words begin with a particular letter sound, such as /d/? I would use the objects: dog or doughnut as a visual prompt, and the students are able to touch, hold and feel the objects making it more concrete and memorable. Most of all, my students use the objects from the bins during small group activities and engage in conversations amongst themselves. The materials serve itself as a teaching tool. They're all packaged and sorted and the students have learned how to care for and manipulate the materials.
I cannot thank all of our donors enough for the wonderful generosity. Your hearts know no bounds! We truly appreciate the support you have for my teaching and most of all, my students' success as beginning readers!”
