  • Let's Evolve Education With Technology!

    Funded Sep 21, 2023

Thank you very much for your generous donation towards the new technology; smart televisions, Apple TVs, and TV mounts! The items arrived at our school right away. They have been a great resource and tremendous asset to our school community; students and parents. We have been using the technology not only to share lessons, but for presentations and Zoom meetings with community educational partners. It has been very exciting to have the new technology in our school to display and share with students, parents and the rest of the school community.

One of the biggest advantages of having the new technology; smart televisions, Apple TVs, and TV mounts in the provides the ability to collaborate with each other from anywhere in the class which avoids cords. Furthermore, it's quick and efficient to share as long as you have internet access but even then you can hardwire when internet is not available. Anyone with an electronic device can connect and share. The students are more engaged as it is clearer to see the content. We have used the technology for PBIS presentations, lesson activities, parent meetings, parent workshops, and Zoom meetings.

Again, I want to thank you for providing our school community with the smart televisions, apple TVs, and TV mount. Without donors like you my students and their parents/families would not have access to engage in instructional material/presentations, and/or clear Zoom meetings. It is being used in a way that is engaging to the students, parents, and teacher. We really appreciate your generosity! Thank you for your contribution and making the world a better place!”

    With gratitude,

    Mr. Salmeron

  • iPads for Kinders!

    Funded Aug 13, 2021

Thank you very much for your generous donation of the two iPads. The iPads have been an additional resource and tremendous asset to my students.

The students are using the iPads to build their digital portfolio of their work with an application (app) called Seesaw. The children have been able to complete activities on their portfolio including taking photos of their art/writing and able to clearly audio-record themselves reading their written story. Once it is approved by me and shared within Seesaw, the student will receive feedback from their parents, teacher, and/or other students, often times the same day. The students also use the iPads to conduct research and access educational apps like, Epic, Dreambox, and Zearn.org.

Dreambox is a common core-aligned program with math, that reviews and adapts to individual student skills. It has over thousands of math questions matched to all math standards and promotes student collaboration. Epic! provides instant, unlimited access to thousands of books, videos and quizzes from leading publishers to help students everywhere read, learn and grow. Epic is designed for students to read anywhere internet is available and the icing on the cake is that it is free to students during the school day. Zearn.org is a math game that integrates a personalized learning experience for every student. Students complete math questions to level up and collect coins.

It has been a joy to see each student use and learn the technology, but it makes me happy to see how they guide their peers with any of the apps. As a parent, I know it would brighten my day if I saw what my kid was doing in class and could provide feedback to them. Most of the work in my class is done in journals. In my opinion, this is the best and easiest way to keep the parents in the loop. Parents can even invite other family members to join and view their child's posts. I am looking forward to incorporating more ideas and seeing what the children will create with the iPads.

Again, I want to thank you for providing my class with the two iPads. They are being used in a way that is engaging to the students, parents, and teacher. We really appreciate your generosity!”

  • iPads for Reading!

    Funded May 29, 2020

Thank you very much for your generous donation of the two Apple iPads! The iPads have been a great resource and tremendous asset to my students during these hard times. The students have been using the iPads in various ways. It's been a very exciting couple of months as they have used their devices to access school via Zoom and complete various learning activities at home.

The students are using the iPads to complete their asynchronous activities via a digital portfolio of their work with an app called Seesaw. The children take photos of their completed synchronous work math/art/writing and audio-record themselves documenting their learning. Once it is approved by me and posted within Seesaw, the student will receive feedback from their parents and teacher, often times the same day. The students also use the iPads to access apps like Freckle, Amplify Reading, Epic Reading and Zearn Math.

Freckle Education is a common core-aligned program with resources for Math and English Language Arts (ELA) that adapts to individual student skills. Freckle has over thousands of math questions matched to all math standards and more than 500 ELA articles that often cover social studies and science standards as well as all ELA standards. Amplify Reading is a supplemental reading curriculum application designed to support students development in key early literacy skills through play. Amplify Reading promotes student collaboration through ELA inquiry-based, cross-curricular lesson that adapts to individual student skills. Epic! provides instant, unlimited access to thousands of books, videos and quizzes from leading publishers to help students everywhere read, learn and grow. Epic is designed for students to read anywhere internet is available and the icing on the cake is that it is free to students during the school day. Zearn.org is a math game that integrates a personalized learning experience for every student. Students complete math questions to level up and collect coins while reviewing and mastering core content

  • Tools Needed to Learn!

    Funded Mar 21, 2019

Thank you very much for your generous donation that made possible the addition of flexible seating desks and ink cartridges to my classroom. The flexible seating materials have been an additional resource and tremendous tool for my students. The students now have more choices in their seating arrangement using the variety of seating that allows them to focus and maximize their learning. In addition, we have the ability to print, copy, and/or scan teacher created homework, desk topper nameplate replacements, and classroom activity sheets (e.g. president research project covers and GoNoddle completion certificates).

My third graders and I really appreciate you for bringing this project home. We are enjoying the use of the flexible seating tools; two portable lap desk and ten fidget bands on a daily basis. All my students especially those who have difficulty paying attention and control impulsive behaviors demonstrate more focus and attention on their work habits. We are all truly loving the dynamic seating flexibility. My students now are able to fidget quietly, while maintaining engagement and comfort. My students also have the space to learn where they feel most comfortable. Now my students don't have to always sit in crammed small desks and have a hard time focusing, and at times causes them to struggle academically. Through research, observation and many experiences I know that creating a flexible seating arrangement gives students the freedom they need to be ready to be the learners that they deserve to be.

Again, I want to thank you for providing my class with the gift of flexible seating and ink cartridges. Flexible seating in my classroom now promotes positive collaboration and communication amongst peers, fosters good decision-making skills, and creates a more comfortable, less rigid learning environment. I know my students love learning in this classroom environment! We really appreciate your generosity!”

Our little school of 220 (more or less) students has made great gains academically over the past years with the small budget we receive. We are often overlooked because we are so tiny. Our school's budget covers supplies and not much else. My classroom is composed of 24 students that are always engaged, happy, and focused. We are an example of a working community of students, faculty, parents, and staff all working together for student academic success. My hope is that most if not all students will continue to maximize learning and go to college with the needed tools to succeed in life.
