  • Fully Sanitized and Full of School Supplies

    Funded Aug 9, 2022

Your donation has been a very necessary addition to our classroom. Because of your generosity, we have been able to keep our classroom clean and germ-free. In this day and age, you can never have too much sanitizer, too many cleaning wipes, or too much Kleenex! The students have also used nearly ALL of the filler paper LOL Our room is so stocked from your contribution that the students come in with the expectation that everything they need for their success is already in the room when they step in! As we head into the new year, we want to extend a heartfelt thank you to all who have helped make the start of our school year a success.”

    With gratitude,

  • Back to the Basics in English 2!

    Funded Oct 9, 2021

I want to thank you for your generous donations to our classroom. While the school year proved to be pretty hectic, at times, we were able to push through and make it successfully to the end. A part of our classroom success can be attributed in part to your generosity. The best addition to the classroom was the amazing heater we were able to have for those "freezing" moments. I wish I could have taken a picture to document how many times students took advantage of the heater, but I found it impossible to do so without showing faces. It had to be placed behind my desk for safety purposes, but I want you all to know that the students made themselves right at home whether in my chair or even under my desk... and always at 2, 3 and 4 at a time. :) They were super excited to know warmth was a few feet away at all times.

The table was also a great addition. My teacher desk isn't very large, so the additional table provided a great location to hold student handouts, copies, and made for a great turn it in station. I also used it to conduct one on one teacher-student conferences. Your donations were much needed and we are forever grateful!”

  • Wanted: Fire Tablets to Ignite the Flame in Small Groups

    Funded Sep 11, 2021

Thank you for your donation to our classroom. The tablets that were provided as a result of this project being funded are a great addition to the class! I have been able to increase the amount of technology available to my students during the school day, which has provided them access to different educational sites and various learning opportunities.

In preparation for the upcoming testing season, my students have also used these tablets to get individualized practice on standards they struggle with. Additionally, small groups have been a success and I cannot thank you all enough.”

  • I Like Big Books & I Cannot Lie! #OperationClassLibrary

    Funded Aug 23, 2021

Thank you for your contribution to our class. It has been very exciting and rewarding to rebuild my classroom library. My students were happy to see the many different book options available to them. Students who proudly claimed they are "not a reader" have checked out books and have come back for more! While we do not have designated class time for independent reading, they have taken it upon themselves to check out books and read at home and I could not be more proud. Without your support, and donations, this would not have been possible. Thank you for everything!”

  • #OperationPrinterForTheFearless: The Power of Poetry in Print!

    Funded Aug 13, 2021

I want to express my most heartfelt gratitude for your contribution to this project. Since this is the first year that I am sponsoring the poetry club at our school, I wanted to make sure the students had the opportunity to see their work in print. It has been such a rewarding experience to watch them get excited about their art. The satisfaction of seeing it on paper, instead of reading it from their cell phones, has been tremendously encouraging for them.

One of the greatest benefits of having this printer is the dual opportunity of being able to use it within my classroom as well, for my students. Outside of printing for the poetry club, I have been able to print handouts and make copies for my students too. The copy machine at the school that is supposed to be for teacher usage is often out of order so this printer has come in handy! Where there could have been a catastrophe, I have been able to stick to my lesson plans and provide my students with an amazing educational experience in spite of that issue.”

  • It's the Tech for Me! Operation #SamsungChromebooks Is a Go!

    Funded Feb 11, 2021

The Chromebooks I received for my classroom were a tremendous help and necessity. Although our district provided devices to students, many were not fortunate enough to receive one. We simply ran out. There was more demand than supply and so students were left trying to use their phones and tablets for the entire school year.

The most exciting part of having these Chromebooks within the class was removing the opportunity for students to miss out on content because they didn't have a device.

Thankfully, your donation helped me provide a Chromebook each period to students that were without. Students were able to successfully compose essays and navigate the online class platform seamlessly. It is much more of a struggle to do so on a cellphone, believe it or not.

In general, this donation helped my students be successful this past school year. I am thrilled that I now have this resource to utilize for this upcoming year's students as well.”

    With gratitude,

  • Chromebooks Needed for Golden Opportunity to Become a One-to-One Classroom!

    Funded Oct 17, 2018

I want to send a heartfelt thank you for your generous donation to my classroom. As a part of a school with very limited technology, it is often very difficult to get students involved with e-learning sites necessary for additional practice and learning opportunities. With the addition of these Chromebooks to my classroom, every student has been provided the opportunity to actively participate in the online learning programs I implement as an added support to my instruction.

Your donation has allowed 130 students to practice typing, a skill no longer taught within schools. Although they have access to mobile phones, they cannot utilize typing practice services with their personal devices. With the increased possibility of state testing being administered via computer, your donation has helped my students become more comfortable using computers and has even allowed them to browse our state testing platform to practice for the big day.

Most importantly, your donation has proved to be a big confidence booster for my students. When I announced that we had received Chromebooks as a generous donation, they were all too excited and were very proud to have someone (aside from me and their parents) to support their educational endeavors and to believe in them. My students are very ambitious children who are not always the most confident, but your support has helped boost their confidence and helped encourage them to continue putting 100% effort in their daily tasks. I am forever grateful for your support and I look forward to sharing this blessing with many students to come.”

  • Bridging the Gap with Google Chromebooks!

    Funded Oct 23, 2017

Thank you for your donation to our classroom. My students are truly appreciative of the kind contribution that you have made. Thanks to your generosity, all of my students (130 total) have access to the Internet and can successfully complete the online resources that allow them to practice skills and acquire the knowledge necessary to perform successfully on the statewide testing.

Several of my students do not have access to computers at home so the technology center in our classroom, comprised of your donation, is a welcome and necessary addition. They are most excited about being able to complete their homework during class to free up their time at home to do whatever it is sixth graders enjoy doing in their downtime. :)

We have also been able to access our class novels online so that students who cannot purchase the book are not left out and are able to participate in our in-class read alouds and discussions.

I cannot thank you enough for believing in their success and helping them access the tools they need to be successful.”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Gordon

Welcome to Mrs. Gordon's English class! I am super excited to join Donor's Choose and access a new method of garnering support for my amazing students. I believe an educator's job is not only to help the student achieve academically, but also to help shape them into successful, well-rounded, and positive contributing citizens of this great world. The best way to accomplish this goal is to invest in our children because, while it is cliche, they are truly our future. Thank you in advance for your donations and support.
