Anchor the Organization!
Funded Nov 11, 2021Thank you so much for supporting my classroom! Students at this age often struggle with organization and require a lot of modeling and someone showing them exactly what it looks like to be organized and teaching them how to be organized themselves. The bins that came through this program helped provide just that!
We also were able to get headphones through this program to allow students to be able to focus on the items they needed to complete on their computers such as iReady lessons and assessments, Boom cards, and other learning platforms. Headphones are so needed in the classroom to shut out any background noise and so they are able to truly focus in on what needs to be done.
We were also able to purchase anchor chart paper to aid in lessons being taught, students showing their understanding, and even just fun lessons or indoor recess when the rain stopped us from going outside. The anchor chart paper was a tremendous addition to our classroom and having it easily accessible hanging up on the classroom wall made a world of difference.
Thank you again!”

Funded Nov 16, 2018Thank you so much for your donations! Thanks to you, we now have enough iPads to work in a small group where every student in the small group has an iPad to use! Many of my students do not have computers or iPads at home where they can go on iReady to practice their reading or math or other fun apps where they can practice their sight words, read books digitally, etc. They have been SO excited to use the iPads daily! We even have an iPad rotation that the kids love!
My students have also loved doing research on the iPads and finding out more information on things we are learning about in class or things they are wondering about. We are also using the Osmo with one of the iPads which has been very beneficial to the skills offered through that!
Thank you again for your constant support and donations to our classroom! We are able to hit our learning gains because of people like you!”

Funded Nov 3, 2017The students in room 204 are using these amazing resources daily! Between the black wiggle chairs, the low table (that can get taller should we need it), and the green bean bag chair added to the flexible seating options I had prior, the students are thrilled to come to school! They love having the choices to move around the room and have some options throughout their day.
When my students walked in our classroom and saw the new options, they were so excited and couldn't wait to try out the new options! They couldn't believe that I was able to get them more options and I was ecstatic to tell them that there were people out there that wanted to support their education! Thank you so much to our amazing donors and DonorsChoose!
My students work in groups often and having another table, with seating, has been extremely beneficial to our classroom. Prior to having this table, I always had one group that was stuck doing their group work on the floor so they have enough room to create a poster and all be able to see it, but now, they all fit around the table and have fun seating to help them work their best! Without donors like you, this never would have been possible!”

Bringing technology into the Classroom!
Funded Dec 1, 2015Dear Donors,
In early December, our project, "Bringing technology into the Classroom!" was fully funded! We received our three iPad Air devices at the end of December. As soon as we returned from winter vacation, we began utilizing our classroom iPads and rapidly fell in love with this technology we hadn't had in our classrooms yet.
Many of you have iPads or tablets at home. Most use it to check email, social media, watch shows, etc. In the classroom, we use it for so much more! We are able to access our textbooks digitally, take online quizzes instead of paper based quizzes, play interactive games that go along with our curriculum, and even use digital flash cards to help us study before an upcoming test! We have also downloaded several learning games onto the iPads that help us practice our multiplication, various math skills, learn our states and capitals, and so much more!
One of the amazing things we received after getting our iPads was the Osmo. The Osmo only works with iPads and has been a complete game changer with my small groups. Out of our three iPads, one center (teacher led) uses the Osmo. This has given the students a way to see what is happening on their desks appear onto the screen of their iPad! Using tangrams has never been more fun!
Another aspect of the iPad that the students are captivated by is that they can now check their daily behavior and see where they are for the day, what improvements they need to make, and what their exact percentage is. This percentage changes throughout the day depending on what positive points they have received and also what negative points they received based off their interactions and choices. They just login to their Class Dojo account from the iPad and see where they are. Without this technology, they wouldn't be able to see this as clearly.
Thank you for making this possible!”
