Your present circumstances don't determine where you can go; they merely determine where you start. -Nido Qubein- My 4th grade students are English Language Learners and are first generation American. Math seems to be a foreign language, consisting of words and concepts that don't mesh with their everyday experiences. My students have a difficult time comprehending word problems. It is challenging because they are faced with learning both Mathematics concepts and English at the same time. They have trouble connecting visual and symbolic representations- but that is why they have me!!! I ABSOLUTELY LOVE TEACHING MATH AND ADORE MY STUDENTS! Thank you for visiting our page, donating, and making a difference in my student's learning.
