Funded Dec 4, 2024Thank you so much for your kind donation toward our classroom project to keep a clean workspace. The students enjoy performing classroom chores each day. This skill is great for organizing, cleanliness and life. Students are able to practice this and carry it over into their lives at home.
Using a vacuum cleaner and dust pan can be challenging for students with special needs. This requires the physical ability including fine motor and gross motor skills. These skills are important for students to practice continuously for all parts of academics and living skills.
Thank you again for making a difference for neurodiverse students!”

Future Independent Chefs
Funded Mar 4, 2024Your kind donation to the life skills classroom for our cooking projects have been greatly appreciated. Students learning how to make rice krispie treats, toast, eggs, macaroni and cheese, smore's and so much more. We were able to learn about measurement, grocery shopping, utilizing money and following directions.
Because of your kindness, these students were able to perform tasks at school and generalize them into their home life. Their guardians were able to see the impact that these assignments had on their lives at home. I received so many compliments and kind words on how these items, learning tools and practices have overflowed into skills used at home.
In the future, if you are able to donate to other Donors Choose projects, please know that the money you provide impacts many many many students. Please know it is greatly apprecaited!”

Lego's for Learning!
Funded Dec 18, 2023Thank so much for your kind donation toward our project at SAES. The students have been given educational leisure time to use the items that were purchased through this project. Technology has its benefits but there is no comparison when it comes to using manipulatives to allow the mind to wonder and create. Students in this classroom have greatly benefited from the time they spend creating and developing houses, stores, robots, people and so much more. Because of people like you, students like the ones I work with are given opportunities they might not have had!”

Inspiration For My Future
Funded Dec 8, 2023The students who received the wonderful donation of these books and coloring pages have greatly appreciated these items. They were able to take them home, share them with their families and learn a little bit more about the author. Parents had the opportunity to learn about the path a person with autism took and found success on.
We appreciate the opportunity to learn about different avenues we can take in life even with the obstacles that may be in front of us. These opportunities allow us so much opportunity to grow!”

Current Events For All Abilities
Funded Jan 24, 2023It is with such sincerity that I share my thanks to your kind donation to our classroom. For several years, I have been utilizing the same current events curriculum in hopes that something more exciting might come my way. After developing this project and seeing the speed at which it was funded, I am so thankful. My students are looking forward to the exploration of news and our world when these items arrive. We have explored the samples of Time Magazine provided on their website as a whole in order to know that this program will benefit us. Thank you again!”

Funded Nov 30, 2022Thank you for the generation donation that you made to the classroom project for the neurodiverse students I work with each day! It was a joy opening the magna tiles and beads with the students and exploring how we might be able to use them in our centers on various days. Students in this classroom often show greater progress when given the opportunity to incorporate manipulatives into their everyday work. These manipulatives are built to encourage complex thinking regardless of ability! I hope you have a perfect holiday season!”

Funded Nov 14, 2022Thank you so much for your kind donation for the flexible seating project in my classroom. The students have showed great interest in the new seating options that are now provided during our group times in front of the classroom. The seats purchased are clean, comfortable, appealing to the students and easy to store. Our classroom would not be as engaging as it presently is without these items. I look forward to sharing some photos with these seats in use as we move forward with them in the classroom. I wish you the best during this holiday season!”
