Working with children who have special needs requires lots of one on one assistance, and specific individual support. As I work individually with one child, I could break the other 11 into groups to work on taking turns on a tablet, or in small groups to practice social skills. These tablets will allow my students the opportunity to engage with content in a new and more exciting way. When technology is involved, my students' motivation level significantly increases and their attention is in full. The apps are endless, and the learning is priceless. These Fire tablets would facilitate apps that allow for progress monitoring, data collection, and allow for individualized learning. I am very excited about all the possibilities I could introduce to my students. Alternative forms of learning are highly valued in my line of work. Keeping a child engaged and on task is a big part of my job. If they are not interested, they will not learn.
