• Supplies to Help Start Off the School Year

  Thank you for your generosity in providing supplies to start off our school year. I was very excited to receive the new laminating machine and laminating film and printer toner. I printed out a lot of visuals and laminated it for the students very easily. I am still using the printer toner and am happy that I can print resources and worksheets for my students.

  I also set up the headphone hooks on the sides of the students' desks so they can hang their headphones they need to use for their Chromeboooks. They clear off a lot of space on the students' desks and help keep things organized.

• Calming Area

  Funded Feb 15, 2023

  Thank you for donating to our calming area. My students were very excited when packages started to arrive in our classroom (quite the opposite of calm, right?). Because we were preparing for state testing, the calming strips came in very handy and they enjoyed the stress balls to get their nerves out. They enjoyed calming time with the classroom lights turned off and viewing the projected lights. The students get very quiet and have a nice time to relax and decompress while looking at the patterns in the ceiling and walls. We haven't been able to put up the faux plant wall and textured wallpapers yet, but my new group of students will be able to enjoy those this upcoming school year. Thank you!”

• Graphic Novel Books

  Thank you for your generous donations to our Graphic Novel Books project. My students were very excited to receive new books to add to our classroom library. They were eager to choose new books to read and were especially pleased at the new graphic novel titles. I have a few students who are reluctant readers, but picking up a graphic novel helps them feel like they are just as great of a reader as the other students with chapter books. When I received the new books, I set up a "book tasting" event where the students would browse through bins of books for a few minutes at a time to peek their interest. Thank you so much for giving them that experience!”

• Class Set of Books (The Wild Robot)

  Funded Mar 30, 2023

  Thank you for your donations to this book project. The Wild Robot is a very popular book with my third graders that I have been reading to them for the last few years. They were very excited to be able to read from their own copy of the book instead of just looking at it projected on the board. Many of the students wanted to read ahead and then continue to read the sequel to the book. It gave us a lot to discuss and connect with science and art. My future students will be able to enjoy this class set of books for many years. Thank you for making this possible!”

• Books to Update Our Library (Fairy Tales)

  Thank you for your generous donations that helped us receive fairy tale books for our classroom. Not only did it help build our classroom library, but it allows my students to explore new worlds of imagination and creativity. The students have already read so many of the titles and told me which ones they love. I am elated to be able to share some of these classic tales with them through these books. It has developed a love for reading and storytelling and I cannot wait to have them write plays to extend these stories. Thank you for making a difference in our classroom!”

• Culturally Diverse Class Library

• Organize Our Classroom Library

  Thank you for your donations to help us fund a new rolling library cart! It has been a fantastic addition to our classroom library and we have already begun filling it up with books. My students love the mobile library cart because it fits so many books and they can browse through the books with ease. It's currently set up in my classroom to look like the library book stacks and I've also nicknamed it "the stacks." This has come at a much needed time because my school does not currently have a librarian so my students haven't been able to go to the school library all year. They do, however, enjoy our awesome classroom library all thanks to donors like you! Reading books is their favorite time of the school day (next to recess and lunch.) Thank you!”

• STEM Materials Needed for Automata Project

  Thank you for your donations to our project! I was very excited to receive the materials for the project, but unfortunately because of time constraints and all the testing the district is requiring us to do, I wasn't able to have my students start the cardboard automata project YET. I am looking forward to having them create their own automata at the end of the year. I think that will be a great way to end the year (by having them review what they learned about physical science from the beginning of the year.)”

• Art Supplies and Showing Off

  Thank you for your generous donations to our class project! We were very excited to have a flexible mobile table to use during our group presentations. It made my students feel like a real "presenter." I am looking forward to having my students create the nail string art project for Mother's Day coming up with the supplies that we received. I believe that the kids have less opportunities to be creative and work with their hands because they are so inundated with all the available technology today. This will be a great hands on project for them to do and have something to show for and be proud of.”

• Printing in Color!

  Funded Nov 29, 2022

  Thank you for your donation to our project. I was so excited to receive the color printer and to be able to print the students' hard work in color to display around the classroom. We have used it for printing color coded posters to help remind us of things that we're learning. Recently, we started a project for Black History Month and students created trading sports cards of living African American athletes. It made a much better impact when they were able to print in color. I know this printer will be used a lot in years to come. Thank you!”
