My students are capable of learning and acquiring new skills, but often, a large classroom space can be overwhelming and overstimulating. Without clear physical boundaries, my students have a difficult time focusing on just one thing. Sturdy shelves provide not only a place to store learning materials, but they also divide the room into clearly defined spaces, which is important in reducing distractions and also letting students know exactly where they should be for an activity. My students will benefit from having safe and visually clear boundaries to help them remain in the area and be more fully engaged in lessons and activities.
