Daily, I simultaneously deliver mathematics instruction to scholars in grades 6-8 with exceptional needs ranging from autism to intellectual disabilities. I absolutely love my job and it is my pleasure to provide my scholars with high quality instruction every day! As a result of COVID-19, my scholars were forced to complete the 2019-2020 school year by means of distance learning. Distance learning was extremely challenging because access to digital differentiated resources were not readily available to me or my scholars.
Help me bridge the gap for my scholars during the 2020-2021 school year by making distance learning more equitable for my scholars with exceptional needs. Distance learning will continue during the 2020-2021 school year and with your help, I can better service my scholars. By donating to this project, you will be giving my scholars the opportunity to strengthen their math skills digitally while using interactive, drag and drop activities, and tutorials differentiated by grade level. The interactive components of the curriculum purchased with your donation will accommodate scholar's with limited or heightened alertness, while the tutorial videos will accommodate scholars who receive text to speech or verbatim reading. Additionally, resources include guided notes, step by step instructions, and immediate feedback.
Overall donation will give my scholars the opportunity to strengthen their fact fluency, algebraic thinking, and math problem solving skills in a fun and engaging way. These skills are crucial for college and career readiness. Without access to digital resources that are readily available and differentiated, my scholars will fall further behind in the achievement gap.
