Connecting Kids with Computers

Funded Sep 2, 2017

Thank you for funding my project. Although the bar scanner is not something the students use directly, it allows desktops, ipads, laptops, printers, and other technologies to be distributed to all classrooms in PS202K. Students who have not had access to digital opportunities are able to experience the same programs as their peers in well-funded schools.

Our grade 3-5 students have been working on coding, using the Code.org curriculum. I cannot express enough how access to technology has encouraged our children to delve into block coding. Students have been able to apply these concepts to building strong problem-solving skills in other academic areas as well as real-life situations.

Students in K-2 classrooms, with your generosity, have the ability to access books on Myon.com, and work on literacy and math skills in interactive and engaging ways.

Teachers have access to student data, which helps them to develop meaningful instruction and keep families in the educational loop strengthening the critical home-school connection.

Your generosity is deeply appreciated and will make an impact on our school community for many years to come.”

With gratitude,

Mrs. Wilen
