Meditation Station
Funded Aug 13, 2021Thank you so much for supporting my project! I know my students will love having a place to go to relax during the school day. Supporting students social and emotional wellness will be critical this year as many students return to classrooms for the first time in over a year.”

Funded Sep 10, 2020Thank you so much for your generous donation of books to our classroom!
It is more important than ever that students see themselves represented in our classrooms. Having a diverse selection of books is one way we can show all students they are welcome.
These books lend themselves to courageous conversations about diversity, which support cultural competence. Students have engaged in important conversations about diversity.
The students have enjoyed reading these new books, and I have enjoyed using them as a resource to support my teaching.”

Innovative Designs for Students and Teachers!
Funded Dec 1, 2018Thank you so much for the donation to have a Cricut in my classroom. Students were able to create items and cut materials that we would not have otherwise been able to cut. I have attached a few items of the things students created. We made artifacts for our Ancient Civilization unit.
I have also been able to use the Cricut to organize and label things in the classroom. It is a great tool for organization and has helped students be able to find things in our class and keep the classroom organized.
Thank you,
Mrs. Wilbern”

VRC for Avid Readers
Funded Aug 31, 2018My students and I cannot thank you enough for the generous donation of these Virginia Readers Choice Books! They have already begun reading and are preparing for our VRC reading competition. Students often do not have access to these books in the spring because several schools participate in spring VRC voting parties to encourage students to read. Students and teachers often have trouble checking books out from the public library due to long hold lists; even within the school library, the stock is limited. Students are ecstatic to be able to have these books within the classroom and to be able to get a jump start on their reading. Thank you again for your donation.”

Curriculum Resources for Fifth Graders
Funded Jun 15, 2018Thank you so much for your generous donation to our class library. The students are absolutely loving the new books! I use them for buddy reading, independent reading and have done several read-aloud activities. The students are excited each time we read a "new" book. They have already done several activities with our new books including writing name stories. We are using them for mathematics, language arts and even in science. It has been nice to have relevant texts to share with the students as a lot of resources are outdated.
Thank you again for your generous donation to our class!”

Flexible Seating for Fine Fifth Graders!
Funded May 10, 2018Thank you so much for your contribution to this project! My students are so excited to have the choice in their seating. It has taught them responsibility. They have to make the right choices when picking their seats and they love the freedom to do so. Students are learning to monitor their own behavior because they want the privilege of sitting near their friends and of using the "fun" seats. I notice a difference in the behavior and motivation of these students because of their ability to choose where they sit and I couldn't have done it without your help.
I am actually teaching 80 kids this year in three blocks, and I am the only class (in 5th grade) currently implementing flexible seating. The students are so excited to come to my room and work hard to stay focused and complete their work. I am going to continue to get feedback from students and build upon the options students have for seating in my classroom.”
