  • Essentials Needed to Succeed!

    Funded Dec 24, 2024

Thank you for all the wonderful essentials needed to get through these winter months. We have a variety of stations set up to accommodate the needs of the students. One section covers the cough and cold part of winter with tissues and cough drops while others are a snack area and a disinfectant area. When it comes to cold season in a classroom, the most important essentials are hand sanitizer, tissues, disinfectant wipes, and a focus on regular handwashing to prevent the spread of germs, as these are key factors in limiting the transmission of cold and flu viruses among students and teachers. Thank you for all your support.”

  • Bringing STEM to Art 3D Print

    Funded May 24, 2024

I had 100% active participation in creating 3d prints from my students. It was truly glorous to see the smiles and excitement on my students faces as they embarked on this new creative process. The goals of my classes have always been the goals of most art class: thinking outside of the box and using your mind to achieve results with creativity; seeing what isn't there and what is possible. Students learned Fusion 360, an awesome (free) 3D modeling program that will let you design just about anything. You'll also learn the ins-and-outs of desktop 3D-printing. Students created "chop" stamps with initials to later be used to stamp clay projects. Thanks for helping my classroom introduce new innovative ways to learn.”

  • Makerspace Basics!

    Funded Mar 7, 2024

Thank you for supporting my art room. Students created beautiful watercolor paintings with the new paper. They love how durable watercolor paper is vs drawing paper. It is archival support for many different mediums also.

After we finished up the 2D drawing my classes worked on 3D sculptures. They are currently still working hard. With a little creativity and a healthy glob of hot glue, you can create all kinds of incredible things! I cant wait to see what the students bring to life.

We truly appreciate you and all you have done to help our classroom. Thank you for believing in the Arts.”

  • Glazing Into Science and Art

    Funded Nov 29, 2023

Thank you so much for helping my students get glaze to work on their wonderful ceramic projects. Working with ceramics can help students see the world in a different and more meaningful way. Students experimenting and learning about clay truly gives them the opportunity to be hands on and 100% engaged in learning.

Glazing pottery can be an unpredictable yet exciting part of the pottery making process. Covering your piece with two or more glazes can lend interest to your pottery and augment the natural form of the piece. To achieve new and beautiful glaze finishes, you need interesting glazes that run, break or change colors in interesting ways. Students were very excited to see the new glaze. They all expressed how much it means to have people who care about their education and learning. Thank you for believing in the arts and my students.”

  • Enchanted Calligraphy Art

    Funded Mar 26, 2023

Thank you for donating to our classroom. Because of your generosity, we were able to learn the art of calligraphy using letters and images. Students learned how to create art using ink pens and ink. With your help, we will continue to create works of art using a new medium and technique. The students love designing and creating pieces using all forms of art mediums. I love to see the expressions when they master a new style of art.

I believe strongly in this mission and am grateful to donors like you for making it possible. Thank you for believing in the arts.”

  • Illuminating ART

    Funded Dec 10, 2022

My students love using technology in the art room. We have used it for basic skills for learning vocabulary and taking exams. But beyond that we have transformed art photos to call our own. With these specific LED boards that light up from the computer we are creating fairy tale landscapes using the pointillism technique. Light boxes can very quickly improve your drawing process and allow you to make fewer mistakes.

Not only does a light box helps you trace an image so that you can make a new copy and refine it, but it also improves your muscle memory. And this doesn't only apply only to drawing.

We cant wait to create art using the new technology in the art room. This would not be possible without you. We are grateful for your support in the arts.”

  • Glow Gallery !

    Funded Jan 10, 2022

We are loving our new neon paints and black light. 1st grade just started Keith Haring Neon Action Figures. I have attached some photos to show you how creative the kids art work is coming along. The excitement is overwhelming and amazing. Each grade level will start a different neon project in the next coming weeks.

Thank you so much for the wonderful new paints and black light. It has been a difficult couple of years and I am excited to finally be back the the classroom and creating art again. The kids love trying new things. We appreciate all your love and support for the arts.”

I teach art in a very low-income, high energy Senior High School. Many of my students face difficult home situations, homelessness, gangs, drugs on the streets, and other problems that I don't remember ever being an issue when I was a student. Because of this, it's important for me to go into the classroom and stress to kids the importance of art in their lives. Seeing my students desire to better their lives in such a tough world today makes me want to give them the gift of art more than ever before.
