I only have two learning areas in my classroom, one being desks and the other is an area in front of my whiteboard. Students love coming and sitting on my garage sale rug during learning time but we do not all fit comfortably. I’ve had to look for other seating options such as chairs and benches but students have told me that they would rather sit on the cold tile floor with their friends rather than on a chair or bench. As my class size grows the carpet, sitting spaces get smaller. I would love to offer the students a sitting area in front of the whiteboard where we can all fit and learn comfortably together.
I love my students and I want my students to love their classroom learning areas. I want my students to feel comfortable while I teach and I do not want them to worry about sitting on an uncomfortable floor. I do most of my teaching from the whiteboard area so the more comfortable my students are in this area, the better they will perform on their assignments. Providing my students with a large learning area will not only make teaching easier but also it’ll also make getting together for class discussions a lot easier as well. This rug will really make a difference to me but even more to my wonderful students!
