Our school is a Title I school located in a very rural area. We have an 80% free/reduced lunch community as well as a free breakfast program for all of our students. We have one classroom per grade so we are a very small school. A lot of kids in this area are impoverished and come from very little. Some children in the school are currently living in a homeless shelter and are transported to school everyday in a special van. It amazes me that for how little some of these children have, they still show up everyday and give us the best they have to offer. I learn so much from my students and I would love to give them as many opportunities in their learning as I can. I am a third year teacher that was left with an outdated reading library that I would love to replenish and refresh with high interest books. However, with a frozen budget my monetary resources have run out.
