  • Wiggle and LEARN!

    Funded Sep 1, 2015

You can not even begin to understand the impact your donation has had on my students! Children naturally move...ALL...the time! So it is unnatural for us to ask students to sit still for extended periods of time and listen/learn. With all the learning standards and expectations of students now days, students need to be focused and on task for long periods of time. Because of your donation, my students get to move while they learn. I have seen my students stay focused for longer periods of time. They are learning about themselves as learners and they are happy and engaged during our learning time.”

    With gratitude,

  • Science, It's in the Bag!

    Funded Mar 24, 2014

Thank you all so much for your generous donations to my Science, It's in the Bag project! My students have loved bringing home our science bags to learn more about insects, weather, animal life-cycles, rocks and minerals and the ocean. I have included a journal for students and families to share what they enjoyed about the bags. They all have reported that the entire family was able to be involved and that they each learned something new.

I allow my students to take each bag home for a week. They get the bags on a Friday and bring them back on Thursday. It has been nice that the students get to have them home on a weekend. This has encouraged lots of family fun and learning.

My students have come back with a greater understanding for our science topics because they are allowed to self explore for extended periods of time. My students have also become so excited about science. They have even began checking out more non-fiction text during library because they want to know more about our science topics.

Thank you! You have made a HUGE impact in my students' educational experience.”

  • Mold a Word

    Funded Sep 13, 2013

Thank you so very much for your donation to our classroom project. My students are having so much fun make and learning their sight words. The Play-Doh and letter stamps are their favorite! Allowing my students to make the words with Play- Doh, Wiki Sticks, and foam gives them the opportunity to have fun and interact with the words. Students are more likely to commit the word into their long memory when they are able to interact with the word and when they enjoy what they are doing. I could not be happier to see how excited my students are to learn and practice their sight words. It warms my heart that there are others that share the same passion for educating our youth. Thank you again from the bottom of my heart.”

  • An Organized Teacher is a More Effective Teacher

    Funded May 8, 2013

I can't even begin to thank you for your donation to my project on Donor's Choose. We have started this year using the materials that were purchased through Donor's Choose with our guided reading stations and guided math stations. The students have been able to find all the materials they need and work independently. It is SO important for students to learn how to work independently so they can take ownership of their learning and become lifelong learners. Without your donation I know that we wouldn't be able to accomplish this much in such a short period of time. Your generosity is greatly appreciated!”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Wanke
