Students will develop social skills that seem basic in life but are missing in our kindergartens. They will learn how to share, how to be independent thinkers and how to let their imaginations fly! Our students will be able to use their social or independent playtime to build on skills we are learning in our academics but using their own decision making and abilities. They will be able to learn how to build, create, design and speak with their peers constructively. We will be focusing on specific state standards with our play equipment. Speaking and Listening: They will be learning how to discuss things with each other while they are using dramatic play and other play centers. Learning to be problem solvers and be able to use their words to solve problems. I feel that with Covid we have really missed that interaction time where they can work together, talk together and be able to participate in group activities. SLK1 SLK4 SLK6 Science: Students will learn to solve problems using different tools and be able to work out and design something using items that are in the construction play area (legos, blocks, cars, etc). They will see how things move and how different sorts of forces work on different objects. K-2-ETS-1 K-PS2-1 Social Studies: Students will learn how to work together as a classroom community and be able to solve problems together and treat each other with respect. SS.K.1 SS.K.11 SS.K.16 Math: Students will be able to count items and organize them into groups by using their mathematical skills learned in the classroom instruction.
