Moving the Performing Arts with Technology
Funded Sep 29, 2019As I work to prepare these future leaders for their enormous task ahead, it is important that they are able to keep up with the latest in technology. One way that these tablets are helping the students is they now have the ability to do independent learning on topics they can have specially developed for them in areas that interest them the most. So if the skill I am teaching is how to quote from a text, the students can use different levels of text and topics of text to demonstrate their knowledge through assignments on Google Classroom.
Working in Google Classroom, my students are able to work at a pace that is comfortable for them. One of my favorite ways to help my students is, Google classroom allows me to collaboratively work with my students on the same shared document in real time. So if I have a student struggling with an assignment, I can easily give them a brief tutor session from any where in the world with internet! My students love being able to do this!
Thank you from the bottom of my heart for your donations. It is my hope that in someway this will aid in a better tomorrow for all of us.”
With gratitude,
Mrs. Ramsay
Teaching with Technology
Funded Apr 19, 2016Dear Donors,
It is with a deep appreciation that I write to you. The computers that you so graciously donated to my scholars have been to use everyday!
In our classroom we have gone "Paperless"! Which means that every bit of work my scholars do is done on our computers. We have Goggle Classrooms set up and everything is saved and filed for my scholars. This has been amazing for them. They actually LOVE doing homework and they constantly tell me that they feel like "grown ups". I was super worried that I bit off more than I could chew with this adventure. However, my students have become little assistance and in many cases they have been the ones teaching me.
Never would I imagine that my scholars would be this eager for something this challenging. With the laptops my students can create slide presentations, type professional documents and enhance their abilities on the Internet. Most of my students do not have the monies necessary to have computers at home, so they beg for time before and after school to work on the laptops.
It brings me just joy to see that I have over 100 emails from my Goggle classrooms waiting for me even by the time I get home from school. Thank you for sparking this love of learning for my scholars. I know that they will pay this great kindness by becoming the next set of high performing scholars and exceptional adults.”
With gratitude,
Mrs. Ramsay
