  The first graders learned to work independently and in groups. They are encouraged to try new strategies as they build with the STEM materials. They utilize the items to explore and create projects that they are proud of creating. This has helped to motivate their love of learning.

  This has helped across the board on all subjects. Students are willing to take chances and are less afraid about making a mistake. They celebrate one another and work on working together as a team to build and encourage one another.

• Share the Love of Learning

  Thank you for providing the students in our class the great resources that have brought great visuals, literature, and more to the students while they explore 1st grade science topics that will include plants & animals' life cycles, natures patterns, and much more. The students have been busy exploring the concepts of the Sun, Moon, and Earth. They are amazed and fascinated by the different facts about the world they live in.

  The Fountas and Pinnell's Sing a Song of Poetry for Grade 1 has provided students with grade level literature that connects across the curriculum. My first graders are blossoming as readers and enjoy the word play of poetry. The students love to recite rhymes throughout the days. The poems are a great resource for implementing poetry.

• Our Journey through Reading

As "beginning 1st graders, they yearned to be able to pick up a book and read it independently. Now, the students are increasing their knowledge and confidence in their reading ability.
