Printers Help the Thinkers!
Funded Apr 17, 2019Having a printer in the classroom has been so helpful and convenient for the students. With a printer in the classroom the students no longer have to wait for their work to be sent to the library printers to be grabbed at a later time. When a resource is needed I'm able to find something best fit for them and print.
What is exciting about the new product to my students? They're excited that that they could actually print from their own devices too! They often have work that they want to print out and display. They are proud owners of their work and love to have them immediately.
Students are aware of our new technology in our classroom and often ask to have things printed out from it. They love that it's there for everyone to use. It also prints in color which they go crazy for! They get so tired of the black and white colors.”

Funded Mar 27, 2018My students now are able to use the Lego's for their writing! My students use them to create their stories by using all the various Lego pieces and visualize it! They get an opportunity to be creative with the Lego's and use their imagination! I love seeing the stories that they've come up with so far using the Lego's. My students were in love with the idea and are still in love with using Lego's for their writing. They also have free time to creativity build things not tied with their writing as well, it's great for a brain break. I'm so glad that these were able to boost their imagination and see it in their fictional writing! I would love to post another project with more Lego's, (because we all know they lose the pieces!) and have more character Lego's. When focusing on writing papers, I typically require a certain amount of characters to make their stories reflect more of the type of writing we're doing. The students are now limited, and I would like to give them more flexibility with that.”

Funded Feb 21, 2018iPads in the classroom is helping my students learn their Language Arts and Math concepts in an interactive program Osmo. My students are now able to use their Osmos in the classroom with multiple students at a time. The iPads are also used as an additional device for students to use when classroom iPads aren't readily available for them. When they use their new iPads they are able to touch upon math concepts they may have learned before or concepts they've never learned yet. With this opportunity the students are able to learn and review their math concepts.
What is the most exciting for my students with these new iPads in the classroom that multiple students are able to use the devices at the same time. Prior to this they had to work on a schedule and wait their turn, and most students wouldn't be able to use it due to time in the classroom. Now that the students got their 5 iPads the students are now able to work with their friends or themselves on the Osmo's together.
All my students have warmed to this new technology. Each student knows how to use iPads and are able to use them to their advantage. They're closer to becoming one to one in the classroom even if this is used as a center. The students know how to use the new technology ethically and respectfully and appreciate the opportunity to have more iPads in the classroom.”

Funded Dec 30, 2017Osmo's are helping my students learn how to do math concepts, spelling, coding, counting money, problem solving and so much more with the games we got! After a lesson is complete students are able to use the Osmo's to further their learning. Sometimes they are given opportunities to choose the game of their choice to ensure they're engaged and interested in learning. When using Numbers the students enjoy the opportunity to go at a fast pace and continue with the interactive game. Osmo's has be incorporated into our centers and all students will get an opportunity to use it.
What is most exciting to my students is being able to choose an interactive game that fits their needs. Certain games allow you to choose where they feel they're at: beginner or advanced. So each game is differentiated at a level fit for them. They love how the game is instant and responds back to them right away. They have hands on manipulatives that interact with the technology and that gets them real excited!
I feel every student in my class LOVES these Osmo's, every opportunity they get they'll ask to use them. Most students were able to self teach themselves on how to navigate all the games. Struggling students look forward to these opportunities to be more hands on and engaged with the games. I've had a few students who've mentioned wanting to get their own at home.”
