  • School Olympic Games for Happy and Healthy Kids

    Funded Dec 18, 2017

I'd like to thank you so much for your generosity and support for our project "School Olympic Games for Happy and Healthy Kids. Because of your support, we now have athletic hurdles, agility ladders, baseball bats, and catcher gloves with balls. We are so excited to have these materials, and we use them on a daily basis. We never had this kind of gear before, and it makes our daily physical education much more fun! We set up obstacle courses so students race against each other. We finally play softball with bats and gloves. Teachers from the other classrooms also use the gear regularly. We are training for our school field day coming up in May. We are all so excited about it, and we could never have done it without your support. You made a difference in the lives of many students at our school. Thank you again for your generous donation!”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Vanderheiden

  • STEM and Art Go Hand-In-Hand! Part 2

    Funded Nov 28, 2017

Thank you so much for your donation to our class project "Stem & Art Go Hand in Hand- Part 2"! The 2 additional chrome books we received through your generosity enabled us to take and upload pictures of the butterflies, compose and record original songs, and research other animal life cycles. The 12 butterfly larvae came in two small cups with food and we watched them grow so big in such a short time! Every day we checked on them and and took pictures to record the transformation. It inspired us to write poems and create presentations on the chrome books. It was an amazing experience, and you helped make it a reality. All in all, it was an amazing experience that we will never forget. Thank you so much for your generosity!”

  • STEM & Art Go Hand-in-Hand!

    Funded Nov 9, 2017

Thank you so much for your donation to our class project "Stem & Art Go Hand in Hand"! The potting mix and work gloves helped us improve the soil in our outdoor planters without getting our hands dirty. Now our garden is ready for planting. The 12 butterfly larvae came in two small cups with food and we watched them grow so big in such a short time! Every day we checked on them and one day they all turned into chrysalis. We couldn't wait for them to open and see the butterflies come out. I was so fascinating to see the transformation! Finally we were able to release them outside in the trees. It was an amazing experience, and you helped make it a reality. The chrome book enabled us to take pictures of the butterflies, and research other animal life cycles. Finally, we created beautiful butterfly art on the watercolor paper. All in all, it was an amazing experience that we will never forget. Thank you so much for your generosity!”

  • Inspiring Our Future Technology Wizards

    Funded Nov 11, 2015

I'd like to thank you for your generous donation to my project. Thanks to your donation, my students now have an iPad Air with protective case to use in the classroom.

They were so excited when they opened the box. I wish you could have seen their faces. It was priceless. Now they are using the iPad for their computer programming projects. In addition, they like to use the apps to show what they learn in creative ways. The iPad adds an engaging tool for my third graders to apply technology skills, all thanks to you!

I hope you enjoy the pictures that show their happy faces as they work on the new iPad. It is so encouraging to know you share my vision to provide the best possible education to all my students. From the bottom of my heart, a big THANK YOU for your support!”

    With gratitude,

  • Arts Infused Inquiry Based Learning: Music to Our Ears!

    Funded Jul 17, 2015

I'd like to thank you for your generous donation to my project. The Bose SoundLink Bluetooth Speaker that I received has enabled me to accommodate the need for integration of Performing Arts in many areas of the curriculum. So far, we've been using the speaker for creative expression, singing, and dance. The Bose Speaker has a great sound that carries far and a battery that lasts for a very long time, so we've been using it both indoors and outdoors. We even use it to play music during PE. Again, thank you so much for making my vision for a creative classroom experience a reality!”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Vanderheiden

  • A School Garden for Life Science and Life Skills!

    Funded Jul 29, 2014

I would like to share with you how your donation has impacted my students. When they received the soak hoses, plant food and compost bin they were so excited. Thanks to your donation, they were able to plant their green bean seedlings and observe how they grew into adult plants with lots and lots of beans. They worked together to prepare the soil, install the irrigation and check on the baby plants every day to make sure they were doing well. I wish you could have seen their surprise as the first green beans appeared!

Your donation has made it possible to provide my students with a hands-on learning experience they will never forget.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Vanderheiden
