Little Readers in the Making!
Funded Dec 12, 2019Thank you for donating to my class project. You have impacted my students in a very positive way. The students were very excited when I told them we were going to get the alphabet tubs with toys.
Although the ABC toys tub is used weekly during small groups, the ABC tubs have been used daily as well during center time. I also allow them to play with the toys during center time. The tubs have proved to be useful in a number of ways. In pre-k it is very challenging getting four year old students to listen and focus during instructional time. However, all of my students love toys. So, when I take out the tub with toys for the letter of the week they all get so excited!
In prekindergarten, I introduce the students to a letter every week. I teach them the name of the letter, the sound, how to write the letter, and I introduce things that start with that letter. I teach these concepts during whole group instruction and during small groups. I love using these ABC tubs during small groups because the students enjoy taking turns to hold the toys and take turns naming each item. Pre-k is a very challenging grade level to teach because I am not allowed to use worksheets. I have to use games and creative activities in order to teach. So, as a new pre-k teacher I have had to think outside the box to come up with fun and creative ideas. This box filled with toys has made such a big impact for my class. I can not even express with words how thrilled we all are.
My students are all English language learners and there are times when certain words are very difficult for them. For example, when we covered the letter F a lot of them struggled with the meaning of the word "Feather." As soon as I took out the tub and showed them a feather they all understood what I was saying. These tubs are allowing me to make the learning process a lot more meaningful for my students. It is proven that when students get to see and touch things during the learning process they capture and learn the content faster. I thank you from the bottom of my heart for this act of kindness. This box filled with toys has already made an impact on my students and we will be using it every week until the end of the school year. THANK YOU!!!!”

Funded Nov 28, 2019Thank you so much for your donation. Thanks to you our classroom received the Learning Dynamics reading program. We use the different activities included with this program in order to practice the letter names and sounds. For example, every morning during circle time we use the music CD to practice all of the letter and sounds. My students love the songs because they are catchy and help them memorize the letter sounds. Ever since we have been using this program, I have noticed how much my students have gained from it. We also use the mini story books to practice reading simple words. It is very important to provide students with books that are at their level and the Learning Dynamic program includes mini books in different levels with colorful and interesting illustrations.
Thanks to you my students are going to leave prekindergarten knowing all of their letter names and sounds. Some of them will even be reading! Thank you once again.”

Funded Nov 7, 2019We cannot thank you enough for your generosity to our classroom! Every student in this classroom uses the crayons we got thanks to you. Having new crayons makes art more fun and helps our students know that they are important artists who matter. Having art supplies also encourages our students to do their best. By your example, you are teaching our children to give back to the world in some way. Our students are creating artwork that will help instill in them a love for learning and art. Thank you so much for your donation to our classroom. You are making a difference in our lives and helping to close the achievement gap that our students face in the educational world.”

Funded Nov 4, 2019We can not express how grateful we are for your donation. The laptop that you helped us receive has been used every single day. The students love using it during small group center time. This helps with our alphabet practice and counting skills.
The most exciting thing about this laptop would be bringing our academic learning to life! We know that the sky is the limit now and we no longer have to just sit and read stories but we can also bring these stories to life! We can look up characters and even create our own because of this laptop. I get to see my students smiling and taking ownership of their learning now.
When students love coming to their classroom every day and truly enjoy learning, the possibilities are endless! For that, we are forever thankful and we appreciate each and every one of you! Thanks for making learning fun again and contributing to the success of our future!”

Funded Apr 5, 2019Thanks to your your generosity my students were able to benefit from several hands on materials. Students in prekindergarten learn through hands on activities which is why teachers in prekindergarten try to avoid the use of traditional worksheets. I noticed how these materials for learning letters and sounds helped my students show dramatic gains.
Thanks to these materials, I was able to push my students in order to get them ready for Kindergarten. Thanks to your donation, I was be able to challenge my students and at the same time allowed them to have fun while learning. Thank you for helping make a difference in our future. This is definitely the gift that keeps on giving because I will use these great materials with my students year after year.”

Funded Feb 14, 2019Thank you so much for your generous donation for our soccer materials. Thanks to these materials, my students have been more motivated and excited to come to school. They all have something fun and exciting to look forward to when they come to school everyday. I work with students who unfortunately do not have the resources or financial means to be involved in sports or any other extra curricular activities. However, now thanks to the wonderful soccer materials we obtained thanks to you we are able to go outside and let out some energy. My students are learning to play soccer and most importantly they are learning how to be part of a team and get along with each other. I have come to see my students being more cooperative, engaged, and excited. The benefits of my students being a part of a soccer team are endless. This will also help them reduces stress, enhances their moods especially the ones who come from difficult situations at home. Funded Dec 31, 2018Thank you very much for your generous donation for my students. Thanks to you, I was able to bring more Christmas spirit and joy to my students after they returned from their winter break. I will also be able to save these beautiful Christmas books and decorations for my future students, and use these materials for many years to come. Unfortunately, many of my students come from homes where they do not have Christmas trees or access to Christmas books in order to feel the magic of this beautiful holiday. Thanks to you all of my students will be able to look forward to come to a cozy and welcoming classroom during the month of December.
