  • Supporting Individual Student Needs

    Funded Nov 25, 2022

Last year, your donations helped tremendously. The noise cancelling headphones assisted multiple students when things got overwhelming. If needed, they were able to locate them in the classroom, and use them. This really helped boost their independence and confidence.

Because of your help, my cozy corner is well stocked with items that will continue to benefit students' social-emotional development for years to come.

As for the gross motor items, they are a hit! The scooters and stepping stones bring so much more interest, engagement and positive challenge to our gross motor or outdoor time. They are so much fun!

My students are excited to come to school every day!”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Udit

This classroom project was brought to life by The Walt Disney Company and 8 other donors.
  • Making Learning Fun Part 2

    Funded Mar 22, 2018

Thank you so much for donating to my classroom! Students were so excited to receive the talking pencil, which was so cool! As the pencil passed over a word, the pencil "read" the word and also quizzed students. It made one of our reading centers so much fun and desirable!

One of the other donations was our big green balance ball seat, which offered our classroom flexible seating. This worked for students who benefited from more movement opportunities while working. It also worked as an incentive!”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Udit

  • Sensory and Dramatic Play Upgrades

    Funded Nov 27, 2021

Thanks so much for donating these great products to my classroom! This year, My students were able to explore the theme of "caring" through play using the Pet Care playset. They loved that it came with both a dog and cat, and realistic items to care for them. It was tough at times because everyone wanted to play with it at the same time!

They were also excited about the new multicultural play foods, which made a great addition to our kitchen area. Students learned and played with foods such as samosa, sushi, edamame and croissant.

Thanks so much for your donations!”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Udit

  • A Beautiful Soft Rug to Gather

    Funded Oct 4, 2021

We've received our beautiful rug and since then, have been receiving so many compliments from people who pass by our classroom or who happen to enter!

The students love sitting on our bright, cheery rug for circle time, stories, show and tell, or to play! I love the natural, green color and theme. It is so welcoming and inspiring.

I use the song, "Sit on a Leaf" to manage the students on the rug, which makes classroom management fun and effective. Thank you for donating and making this soft rug a part of our classroom”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Udit

  • Hands Up for Hands-On Learning!

    Funded Oct 6, 2017

Thanks to your help, my students thoroughly enjoy center time activities. More importantly, I've watched them grow and work toward mastery of the skills that these "games" teach. Not only are these students making strides in math, but almost 90% of my class is at or above reading level. This is amazing considering not one was reading when we began in September. No doubt your donation has played an important role in this! I'm so grateful of these classroom supports and my students love you for it!

My next steps include starting new projects where I can continue to build my classroom supports as well as the tools that are obviously helping my kids succeed!”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Udit

Life can be tough for Kindergarteners nowadays. They're expected to know and do so much! My group of munchkins are bright, but require stimulating activities in order to maintain their interest and love for learning. I want to offer my students a classroom full of activities and hands-on learning opportunities that they actually enjoy using! My donor requests are meant to be used during center time, as fun and exciting ways to "play" with phonics and math (as opposed to worksheets, drills, and more worksheets...blah!). -The Stack & Build Phonics Flip Books help students build their phonics skills as they sound out and create a variety of words. -Simple Words Learning Locks only unlock when students use the key with the correct word on it, helping them to begin recognizing simple words. -Size & Color Teddy Counters are cute sorting and counting manipulative that can be used in countless ways during math. -Simple Addition & Subtraction Instant Learning Centers come with enough sets for 4 children to learn how to add/subtract numbers under 10. -Learn to Count! Dough Mats allow students to have fun making dough shapes while building counting skills. -Jumbo Magnetic Ten-Frames greatly help students understand the concept of numbers within ten to strengthen their number sense. -Making Ten Listening Center is designed for up to 4 kids to work at once, and develops skills in composing numbers to 10, decomposing numbers to 10 and counting on.
