Nature Calling!
Funded Jan 12, 2019The impact of the project "Nature Calling," had a tremendous impact on my classroom and my students. The students in my classroom enjoyed using many of the materials from this project, specifically the clay and nature blocks.
We created a small clay bar at the art center using the clay and wooden beads which were a part of the materials ordered. My students immediately gravitated to the clay bar and began creating sculptures. The sculptures they constructed varied tremendously some students made food such as cookies and ice cream, while others made animals such as caterpillars and elephants.
The nature blocks were placed at the block center and students used them to build different structures. One day they used the nature blocks to build different bridges and created a city. Another day they used the nature blocks to build a rooftop garden.
My students have been extremely creative with all the nature materials and I love seeing them at work. I wonder what they will create next!”

Funded Feb 9, 2019The resources from the project, "Let's Get Movin'!" has improved my student's outdoor time tremendously. In our school yard there isn't any equipment for my students to use, there isn't a playground or any other type of equipment. However, our new materials have transformed the yard completely and now my students have a lot of fun with all the gym materials you have provided.
My students get extremely creative with the cones. One day they places the cones in a straight line and created an obstacle course to jump over them. Additionally they have created different games using the bean bags. They love trying to balance the bean bags on different parts of their bodies while running or hopping.
Thank you for providing my students with resources for them to enjoy outdoors.”

Funded Mar 27, 2018Thank you so much for your generosity. Your donations have allowed my students to become real authors and bind their books.
My students love all the technological things they can get their hands on and they were thrilled to get their hands on this book binding machine while watching the magic take place. The paper trimmer also allowed us to make sure all the pages of our books were the same measurement and created a real book appearance. Additionally, the front and back covers for the books really gave our books a great touch!
Thank you for supporting our classroom and our students!”

Funded Dec 25, 2017Thank you for donating to our project. Students have been using the art material almost everyday and they have really enriched our classroom with increased artistic expressions. Students loved using the foam cubes to add windows to their airplanes as we completed the study of Transportation. The magic noodles were a huge hit as many students used them to write their names in 3-dimensional shapes, which also aided their letter recognition. Students used tissue paper to create sun catchers and observe how the light looks through them. Currently, the collage materials are in our art center and students have been using them to create different plants as we study plant unit.
The possibilities with the art materials, you funded, are endless and they are making big impacts on our classroom.”

Funded Nov 29, 2017Thank you so much for your generosity with funding this project. The large easel with a dry erase side and a felt board side have been very useful across different subjects. It has allowed for all children to participate in whole group and small group instruction.
One of the ways students enjoy using the board is by retelling stories using different felt pieces on the board. Retelling stories aids students expressive language, reading comprehension and building their vocabulary. Another way students use the board is by writing and labeling on the dry erase side. Students enjoy practicing the letter of the week on the board and writing words which begin with the letter.
Thank you for giving every child in my class a voice to express themselves and their knowledge.”

Funded Sep 21, 2017Thank you so much in funding the alphabet project. My students were so excited to unpack the alphabet games upon their arrival. My students were never so excited to learn the alphabet as they are with the resources you funded.
The alphabet mystery game is one of our favorites, students love playing it with peers at the writing center; with the help of this game students have been learning the letter names and their sounds. Launch and Learn the Alphabet is another favorite, students love pressing the button and watching the letters pop out from it; this game has helped students learn the uppercase letters and even the lowercase letters.
The Alphabet Tubs have also been a big hit, its incredible to be able to show students all the different miniatures which begin with the letter they are learning about. I can't wait to use these materials in other ways, once my students have mastered the alphabet.
Thank you so much for your generosity!”

Funded Sep 8, 2017Thank you so much for your generosity in funding the math project. My students were so excited at the arrival of all the math materials. Within the last couple of months we have been using many of the math materials to strengthen the students number knowledge and number recognition.
During our study of Where We Live, students loved matching the number on the key to the correct lock, to unlock it. The locks game is self-correcting since every key will only open the lock which matches, it was a great learning experience since students were able to construct their own knowledge of number and quantity.
The sand timers are another one of my students' favorite materials to aid in their understanding of time. Students love timing themselves to see if they could beat the timer and complete the task before the sand runs out. While playing a science game, students used a timer to see who would finish their board before the time ran out.
Students have also been using the math trays, to sort objects into four categories. As the students advance in their math skills we will move on to other math materials from the project, which are more challenging.
Thank you for making such a positive impact on my classroom.”

Funded Aug 1, 2017Thank you so much for your generously. The students had been learning about their five senses as part of our curriculum. We had discussed the various ways we use our five senses to explore the world around us. We had added the materials from this project, the science five senses learning center, into our science center and the students had so much fun playing the game, by trying to figure out which sense they would use most to explore the object on the illustration. The students even asked to add a timer to the game so they could see who finished their five senses board first. We are looking forward to our plat unit, to use the science learning center plants!
Thank you so much for bringing exciting games into our learning!”

Funded Jul 17, 2017Thank you so much for your generous donations and support. The printer has been added to our technology center and has been a huge hit for the students. Prior to your donation I did not have a printers for the students to print their work. Now, thanks to your support, the students are able to see their work in reality and not only on the screen. The most exciting part for the students has been, to see the work they have done on the computers, come out of the printer, some call it, "Magic Machine!"
Thank you so much for bringing the "magic" to our classroom!”

Funded Apr 27, 2017The students in my class were eager to open the boxes with the materials as soon as they arrived in our classroom. Some of the students were familiar with some of the materials and others had never used them before but were super excited to begin working with them.
Students worked in small groups and individually constructing bridges, castles, plumbing lines and many other structures. The collaboration which happened in small groups was incredible to observe as students worked on large structures together. Students working together with each other has progressed their ability to be team players and practice their social skills to be better citizens in the classroom and the world outside. Students had opportunities to work individually and express themselves and their unique structures with others. As the students worked individually and explained their reasoning behind the positioning of each material, one can understand their higher level thinking and inventiveness which occurred during their time constructing their structures.
We will be forever thankful to the generous donors who have contributed to this projects and made it a reality in our classroom.”
