Thank you so much for supporting our classroom. My students were so excited to use all the materials and they continue to use them on a daily basis. We were able to have cooking and baking activities with the mixing spoons, measuring cups, bowls, measuring spoons, and cookie sheet pans. My students really love getting into the baker role as they dress up with aprons, this allows them to use and develop their pretend play. My students also love using the peelers whenever we have a fruit for lunch or breakfast and they don't like its skin. Peeling fruits allows my students to gain more independence and work all their fine motor skills.”

Thank you for your support. My students will be so excited to see themselves in photos. It is also a wonderful keepsake for students of all the things they’ve done in action at Prek. I love the Polaroid camera since I can take the photos on the spot, or have the students take photos and they print right there on the spot.”

Thank you for your generosity and support in this project. My students were so excited to use all the different colored paper and cardboard to create their sculptures. Students were able to use their building skills at the block center and use it to build with paper. Many students compared their work to roller coasters and playgrounds. Students were able to use paper to represent their ideas and communicate their imagination It was incredible how students shared their work with the class and added names to their sculptures.
Thank you for supporting my students and our classroom.”

My students have been using the materials from this project at every center play. At the drawing center I was able to set up a station for students to use the crayons, pastels, pencils and chalk for students to use. Students use these materials to express their ideas and thoughts. It is really interesting to see the diversity of their drawings. Students enjoy drawing; trucks, themselves, family members, monsters, apples and many other ideas. I was also able to provide my students from this project with black and white paper and they really enjoyed experimenting with the white and black drawing tools on the black and white papers.”

Thank you for funding this special project. My students and I have been using the rug spots on a daily basis. Every class the students pick a rug spot and we sit in a circle and greet each other while holding hands. The circle of everyone holding hands really creates a community classroom atmosphere and sets our day on the right foot. During center play students are welcomed to use rug spots in different areas of the classroom. My students enjoy using the rug spots in our architecture area while they construct magnificent structures. They also enjoy reading on the rug spots in the area.”

Thank you for supporting such a fundamental project for my students. We have been using the materials from this project on a daily basis. We used the wooden tools for clay, play-doh and even model magic. My students loved experimenting with these tools and observing the ways the tools changed the materials being used. We also love using the sand toys to mold and shape the sand. The students loved scooping and shoveling the sand as they worked on their sand dunes and structures. Students enjoyed watching the water timers as they worked on the color peg puzzles.”

Thank you for supporting this project and investing into my student's education. The professional development which I received from this project helped me become a better educator. As a teacher I am always looking for new tips and techniques to help my students learn. Even though the Zumba professional development did not work out, I was still able to engage in fascinating professional development about the way students learns and methods for fostering memory functions. I had created lessons plans following the professional development to help foster independence and choice time. Students were empowered to make their own choices at such young age since many times they are not given a choice. I was wonderful to see the students learning progression post my implementations of new techniques.”
Thank you so much for your donation. This project has been one of my class' favorite. My students love using the glow in the dark magna tiles to write secret messages and watch them disappear. They have been practicing writing letters and numbers on the light up magna tiles using the led flashlight. My students enjoy using the magna tiles with wheels to create different vehicles. These have really enhanced our transportation unit and its amazing how many different types of vehicles they can create with the same piece. My students have been able to build homes and structures using the windows, stairs, and other home related magna tiles. This project has allowed my students' imagination come to life!”

It has been incredible to have such a comfortable and clean rug in our classroom. The rug in our classroom is part of many of our daily routines. In pre-k children do not sit in desks, they work in different centers throughout the day therefore the rug is really central to where all the learning takes place. All our whole group activities happen at the rug several times a day. Students love sitting on the new rug in a circle as we greet one another in the morning. They love sitting there when we have whole group discussions, when they turn and talk, and share with the class. Most of all they love to wiggle and dance and sing their hearts out on the rug.”

My students are a fantastic bunch who mostly speak Albanian, Chinese, Spanish and Arabic. They come from low socioeconomic families and many are first generation immigrants. They love hands-on learning, dancing, singing and getting dirty. Many students in the class have it pretty rough since their parents work in other states, or countries and they are left with grandparents for weeks and months at a time. The days when they come to school with frowns or staring on the floor that's my cue to give them extra love since their parents have left again to make a living. This is the first year our school has opened and there is a lack of supplies and necessities available. We do not have sinks, bathroom, smart boards, Wi-Fi, and even a telephone in the classroom. The art materials are extremely limited since there are other materials which are more necessary.
