  • Representation in Picture Books Matter!

    Funded Jan 28, 2025

Thank you so very much for your incredible generosity in helping to fund these important books for my classroom! Making sure all my students see themselves in the books we read is so incredibly important. It is also important for my students to learn about other cultures, too, to help build a more inclusive world.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Trevino

This classroom project was brought to life by Munchkin and 2 other donors.
  • "Learn(ing) the Subtle Science and Exact Art of Potion-Making" 2

    Funded Jan 20, 2025

Thank you so very much for your generosity in helping to fund these "potion-making" supplies for my precious students. They will be so excited when we receive them! I cannot wait to see their faces as they see their creations having chemical reactions, like bubbling and fizzing. It is going to be so fun!”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Trevino

  • Printmaking Masters

    Funded Sep 18, 2023

With your generosity in helping to fund this Printmaking Masters project, you were a part of bringing the art of printmaking into our classroom. We are an arts magnet school so we love to provide a variety of different opportunities for our students to engage with the arts. It was so fun to introduce printmaking to my students now, as well.

My students loved creating their own designs to make prints of and using the brayers was really exciting to them. What's even extra wonderful is that I can use these materials for years to come with students.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Trevino

  • Engaging Activities to Ignite Reading Enjoyment

    Funded Jul 31, 2024

Thank you so very much for generously donating to help fund these word building puzzles and word building magnet boards for my students! I introduced the three-letter word building puzzles this week for our CVC Word Families work and the kids love them! The kids build the words, read them out loud, and then practice their writing skills by writing them down on a special handwriting sheet. We will use the 4-letter word building magnet boards when we get to our Blends work.

These materials make for exciting and engaging activities for my students to love as they grow on their literacy journey.”

  • Making Fine Motor Skills Work Fun

    Funded Oct 17, 2024

We cannot thank you enough for your incredible generosity in helping to fund these sand trays for our classroom. The kids love practicing writing their words in them! And, tactile opportunities for students to practice their budding reading and writing skills helps them master them quicker, so you have genuinely helped my students along their literacy journey in a very concrete way.

These sand trays will be used to help with learning letters, decodable words, and even heart words (what was once known as "sight words") during our small group literacy centers for years to come.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Trevino

  • Picture Books That Bust Gender Stereotypes

    Funded Jun 26, 2024

In our kindergarten classroom, it is important that everyone is able to be who they uniquely are. I can help to insure that by fostering an environment that is unencumbered by gender stereotypes. One way I can do this is by filling our room with picture books that show students of any gender engaging in the same kinds of activities. When students see themselves represented in the pictures in our books it helps them to feel safe and comfortable.

This time around, with this specific book project, I wanted to gather more books that show girls enjoying activities that have traditionally been thought of as boy activities because I have a couple students this year that I knew would be excited to see their interests represented in the books we read.”

  • Art Is Born From the Materials

    Funded Mar 28, 2024

One of my students' favorite activities at our classroom art table is drawing. They were so excited to get brand new Sharpie markers and colored pencils to work with. It's so fun to see their creativity come to life so brightly and boldly with these materials.

Recently my students have been wanting to make cards for people, so I'm going to utilize that interest to help build excitement around adding words (writing) to their beautiful drawings. All of these drawing/writing supplies will continue to make a great impact on my students.”

  • "Learn(ing) the Subtle Science and Exact Art of Potion-Making"

    Funded Aug 8, 2024

Thank you so very much for your incredibly generosity in helping to fund these test tubes & flasks for my students to explore the art of chemistry through fun potion making! It is with the help of donors like you that we teachers can get the best materials to help foster a love of learning for our precious students.”

  • With a Microscope, Exploring the Natural World Is Nearly Unlimited

    Funded Jun 15, 2024

Thank you so very much for your generous support toward funding this incredible digital microscope for my kindergarten students! I cannot wait to see the faces on my students next year when they get to see microscopic things even better. Having a robust, engaging science lab area in our classroom is so important for my little scientists.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Trevino

  • Beautiful Books to Assist Young Scientists With Looking Closely

    Funded Aug 3, 2023

Thank you so much for your incredible generosity in donating to fund these beautiful books to help my amazing kindergarten scientists learn about and practice their observation skills. My students loved looking through the books on their own and then were delighted to have me read them to the class aloud. These books helped spark deep discussion about what we observe around us and how important the skill of observation is for a scientist. The look and find books were especially engaging for my students, and they were having fun without even realizing they were using their powers of observation at first.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Trevino
