We Need Books We Can Actually Read!! Help!
Funded Oct 31, 2013Thank you so very much for helping to fund this project! My students have been truly enjoying the resources you have so generously provided us with!
The wonderful books are perfectly leveled for my young and struggling readers, and they are very engaging and exciting for the students. They have been getting a lot of use by the class, and are being shared during library time, read during independent reading, and even used in lessons by me!
Thank you again for helping my students gain access to text they can actually read and understand.”

First Graders Need Clipboards!
Funded Sep 17, 2013Thank you so very much for the wonderful resources you provided my class! We love the clipboards and use them daily in our classroom for class and independent work! The students love being able to walk around the room and write where they need to, feel like scientists when they use clip boards to take notes on live animals in science, and adore getting to write outside when the weather is nice!
I also have been using my clipboard daily to keep behavior data as well as to store my daily lesson plans. This has greatly increased my efficiency, and has made my work so much smoother!
Finally, the storage bins are perfect for keeping all the clipboards safe and orderly when not in use.
Thank you for helping to support our classroom with this project, it has made a huge difference for us!”

More Mo Willems!
Funded Dec 6, 2012What an amazing gift for my students! Thank you so very much for helping us get these wonderful Mo Willems books! My class was THRILLED to open the box this afternoon, and cheered and clapped as I took each book out to read the title to them and display the cover. I have never seen a class so excited to receive books!
When I asked my students why they were so enthralled with Mo Willems, they said that they LOVED his characters, and they inspired the kids to read!
When I finally let the kids get their hands on the books, they were so happy and engaged, we couldn't do anything else for the rest of the day! The characters are so approachable, the words so simple yet engaging, and the story lines so in tune with kids' interests... I know we will get HOURS of use out of these books and they will help build my class into a room full of fabulous readers!!”

Creative First Graders Need Wonderful Writing Tools!
Funded Jul 17, 2012Thank you so much for providing my students with these wonderful resources! My students do not have a lot of art supplies at home, and being able to have enough crayons, markers, and writing tools to last an entire school year of daily use is a HUGE bonus!
We have made beautiful stories, letters, cards, and projects with the writing tools you helped us purchase, and our classroom is brightly colored and full of inspired student work thanks to your materials!
I love that something so simple be so motivating to students! Your donation has really helped my students find value and inspiration in their writing, and they enjoy it more than they ever have before! Thank you!”

Science Exploration Table For Curious First Graders!
Funded Aug 19, 2012Thank you so much for this wonderful gift to my class! Science is such an important subject, and is always my student's favorite. It is even more accessible to them now that we have so many hands-on, grade-appropriate science tools to use.
The observation tools are just amazing! Having different magnifying tools, droppers, color paddles, and magnet tools is a wonderful resource!
The Science Cans with intact, student-centered experiment ideas are rigorous and match our standards perfectly! They are a wonderful way for students to get ideas on how to try different activities and test out different variables in an experiment!
And finally, the science journals help bring focus to all our science experiments and really have students thinking about their experiment process and results!”

Meaningful Morning Meetings Make Smarter Students!
Funded May 14, 2012Thank you so much for the wonderful calendars that your donations helped our class get! We use them EVERY DAY to start our day off in a very organized and academic way! We are about to switch over to the harder calendar now that the students are ready for it, so having both is really reinforcing our target math skills!
I love being able to highlight student birthdays, school celebrations, days off, weekends, and holidays, as well as reinforce the days of the weeks, and months! The place value feature for counting the days in school so far is very helpful in hitting several of our math standards, and having prompted math questions, pattern cards, and estimation tools are also wonderful for teaching concepts quickly!
Thank you for making all mornings smooth and efficient!!”

Money Matters: Help Teach My Class the Real Value of Money
Funded Jul 5, 2012Thank you so very much for supporting my students by donating to this grant! These money resources will be an amazing tool for us in our upcoming money units! We have had a chance to look at and talk about the games and puzzles, but will actually start using them in the New Year when our money units begin!
The students are so excited to have their own money bags to use as manipulatives, and they are also very curious about the cash register! They will be able to play "store" for one of our centers, and use many of the puzzles and self-checking activities during that time to reinforce money skills and really bring home the value of coins!
Thank you again for your help and support!”

Funded Jun 11, 2012Thank you so much for this wonderful gift to my class! Fractions are such a difficult and abstract concept for young students to wrap their brains around. Having the wonderful tools you bought for us in class to support the activities we do in math class will really allow the kids to understand fractions in a whole new way!
The students are thrilled with the center games, and they just love the pizza fraction magnets- that is what I open the unit with because they make so much sense to the students!
I am thrilled with these resources and the knowledge they will bring to my students. Thank you so much for supporting us with you donations!”

1st Graders Demanding More Centers! Help!
Funded Sep 5, 2012Thank you so very much for donating to this project! The box arrived today, and the students were SO excited to open it and see what was inside! When they saw the box was full of beautiful new literacy centers, they all cheered and clapped! We opened a few of them right away, and will save some for later in the year when the skills match up.
The kids were so happy with the tactile sight word flash cards, and were amazed to feel the sand tickle their fingers! We also played with the word family sliders, which were a big hit, and really had them sounding out words!
I am thrilled with the products, and very grateful for your donations. Thank you for making my students so excited about learning to read!”
