Launching Literacy
Funded May 3, 2022This project has helped us begin the year strong! The storage sacks allow my students to come to the teacher table and get right to work with everything they need. They have the dry erase boards, markers, and erasers right within their reach. The notebooks with writing and drawing space have helped my young writers begin drawing pictures to tell stories, and then we will expand to writing labels , words, and sentences as we go.
My students were very excited to have these materials. Their faces lit up when they were handed the brand new notebook for Writer's Workshop! They were so happy to have a special place to keep their work.
We are so thankful for the donors that have made this possible. These supplies have made our transition to school smooth and easy! Thank you so much for your generosity.”

Funded Nov 30, 2021Our class set of calculators are very much appreciated! The students were so excited to be able to each use their calculator for lessons. It allowed everyone to practice at the same time. All students were involved in our calculator lessons without anyone having to share or wait. The organizer case made distributing the calculators quick and easy.
Many of my students had not used a calculator before, so being able to put one in every students hand made teaching the use of the calculator much easier and effective. Everyone was able to practice entering numbers and trying different functions. Students were able to count by adding 1 or skip count using various numbers.
Calculators are tools my kindergarten students will have to use in the future independently. Giving them this early experience will allow them to be successful in future math classes!”

Funded Aug 11, 2021My students were so excited to see the new Magic Boards in our classroom. They were all smiling as we tried them out for the first time! They worked great and clean up was a breeze.
We use the Magic Boards to practice writing letters and numbers as well as their names. They use them to work independently in the morning as they come into school. Each student has one in their desk and can use it to practice classroom skills. They are working great for students to practice writing letters I give them out loud!

These kits will be useful independently or in small groups. These math tools allow students to work on math in a hands on way. My students will be able to use these kits as math stations each day. These tools also come in handy during math lessons. My students were so excited to have their own set of tools to use. I'm excited to be able to use these tools for years to come!”

Funded Aug 11, 2020My class was very excited to receive the individual letter kits! These kits will allow my students to work on a variety of word building skills safely. This class set will make it possible for my kids to work on some skills we usually did by sharing materials. With our current situation, we are trying to allow kids to have their own materials to keep them safe during this uncertain time.
We plan to implement these materials during our Daily 5 and small group times when we return from virtual learning. Students will be able to build words and practice letter identification and letter sounds. Until then, I have been using them virtually in my groups.
Thank you so much for your generosity! Our class is very appreciative of your support. We will put the materials to good use.”

Word Work Artists
Funded Mar 7, 2019We are so thankful for the funding of this project! The art tools are easy for Kindergarteners to use and so much fun. They make painting easy and mess free. We are using the paint and paper in a few ways. We use them in station work. It gives the kids a way to practice writing words, numbers, and making shapes. We also use them to practice as a group.
The first day the students got to use the materials they were very excited! They loved being creative and also working on skills we are covering in class. They couldn't wait to share their work with their families.
We are excited to continue to use our new art materials to practice our skills in a fun way! As my students begin to improve their writing skills and word skills, these tools will give them a new way to practice.”

Math Teamwork
Funded Nov 16, 2018My students were so excited to see the stack of new math games on the counter! They had smiles from ear to ear. They were giving each other high fives, and so happy to see some new activities for our room. They couldn't wait to see what was inside, and add them to our math stations.
We spent time introducing the games and learning how to play them. We then began adding them to our station rotations. Each day the students work with partners at a different station. These games have given our class a lot of new choice in what they can work on. The games are focused on skills we have worked on, and they can now practice with a partner. I also plan to use the materials in small groups at my teacher table.
I am so grateful for all of the donations. These fun and interactive tools enhance my students' learning every day. Thank you so much for your generosity!!”
