  • Small Group Learning Is Important

    Funded Oct 17, 2022

Thank you so very much for helping me to make small group learning engaging! The small floor table was an instant hit among my students! They not only were excited to learn there with their peers but, they loved using it for other things such as breakfast! The black stools aided in smooth transitions and for students to feel they had place in our learning space. Overall these materials helped me more than to just provided a secondary small groups space for learning through math and reading centers, it also offered a space for my students to gather at breakfast, silent read, earned board and card game space. These items helped me as a teacher to of course give space for learning but it also gave my students a space to build our classroom community even more! Thank you again for you generosity!”

  • Snacks Make Everything Better!

    Funded Oct 14, 2022

Thank you so very much for your support during these difficult times. The hurricane flipped our world upside and your donations towards our snack time helped us to feel normal again after such a traumatic event. Additionally, your donations offered students the ability to not worry about where their next snack would come from - the hurricane left many with the resources to obtain healthy snacks on their own. These snack brought us joy and fueled our bodies and our minds! Thank you from the bottom of our hearts... and bellies!”

  • A Cozy Spot to Learn

    Funded Aug 8, 2022

Thank you so much for helping to support the learning community in my classroom! This rug has already made an important learning impact. It has provided us a meeting space for building our classroom community, small group learning space, comfy spot to sit and enjoy learning with friends, along with a cozy spot to read.

When this rug first entered the classroom, the kids noticed it right away! They were so eager to use it. I Most of class made a plan to do a "teacher" game and the rug was the focal point of their play during inside recess time! It was very cute.

Our classroom rug will continue to support small groups, reading, and free play, but I hope to add class meetings where we continue to grow our community within the classroom.

Thank you again for supporting my classroom, my students, and me with this beautiful learning space!”

  • Science Is For The Birds!

    Funded Aug 12, 2021

This project has brought my students so much joy and it has prompted a lot of inquiry based learning during our science time. We have even done some great writing projects both informational and narrative pieces with it too. Additionally, it has aided in student's learning responsibility because they help to clean and fill feeding station. My student's were so excited when they first got the giant boxes and had to know what we got. When we opened it together they were even more excited to set it up and get bird watching! I can not thank you enough for such an amazing opportunity to learn about mother nature right in our own schoolyard.”

  • First Year Teacher Seeks Books to Fill Her Library!

    Funded Sep 30, 2020

Thank you so very much for your generosity! My students are enjoying the many books we received through this project. These books are helping my students learn to love reading. They use them daily during our 'Read to self' time or after finishing their work early. Each student has the opportunity every week to check out five books from my new established library to keep with them at all times. This offers them an opportunity to read from a variety of different genres and topics.

I love for my students to read anytime there is a free moment. I encourage all students to pick up one of their book after they finish their work early to read -they don't always have to wait to read during their designated reading time. They truly enjoy their reading - no matter if it is Read to self or reading while waiting for the next lesson or activity to start.

To help further encourage my students to enjoy these books we make our read to self reading time special and only about reading. I urge my students to find a cozy spot (socially distanced of course) to curl up and immerse themselves in their books while playing soft instrumental music to give the room that "coffee shop" feel. During read to self, I have also made a promise to not disturb them and respect their reading time. I encourage this to be a really a special time all about their books!

Without your generosity, I would not have the amazing selection or enough books in my classroom library for my students to enjoy reading in this way. From the bottom of my student's and my heart, thank you so very much!!”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Thisha Davidson
