In one of our reading centers, my students are asked to work with letter combinations to make different words. With a magnetic easel, my kiddos will have a place to physically manipulate letters instead of a simple pencil and paper. Having somewhere to make and move things, a place to visualize, read and write, would make a huge difference in my students' ability to learn! My students also LOVE big books and anchor charts. An easel is perfect to display visual aids. Visual aids drastically enhance student attention and focus. Big colorful things displayed at the front of the classroom are way more interesting than the paper in front of them.
