STEM In Pre-K
Funded Nov 21, 2023Thank you so much for your generous donations. Because of you we have added new STEM items to our Pre-K classroom which have sparked excitement and curiosity with our little learners.
In our science center, we have added new manipulatives to our light table and our scholars are creating patterns and mixing colors to make new colors with translucent shapes. In our math center, scholars are creating ramps and connecting pipes to make designs and vehicles.
Students have also gotten the chance to mix solids and liquids together to observe the reaction which was a fun bouncy ball to take home. It was so fun!
We can't wait to see what new things our friends will discover in the future.”

Independent Tools… Step Stools!
Funded Apr 3, 2023Thank you so much for supporting our classroom project. Our students can now take care of their self-help routines independently and safely. They are able to use the step stools to turn on the water and wash hands throughout the day without the assistance from an adult. They are very proud of themselves when they can do things independently.
Our students are also able to use the smart screen in our class to complete activities independently during small group learning time. As the teacher, I feel comfortable leaving them unattended to complete the activity knowing the stool is sturdy and safe enough for them to navigate the board without my assistance and I am able to work with another group of students at the same time.
We appreciate all that you have done for our class.”

Funded Nov 29, 2022Thank you so much for your generous donations to help fund our book binder. Our students have been so excited about creating books and being the authors and illustrators of the books we are adding to our library.
Students are showing off their creative abilities and are very proud when they see their pages in the books. These book creations have helped my students improve their writing skills and increase their attention to detail as they add more colors and details to their drawings.
The work has just begun and we can't wait to see what titles are added in the future. We appreciate you.”

Funded Dec 31, 2022Words cannot express how grateful we are for our new classroom rug. It has really added so much color and life to our room. My students enjoy gathering on the rug for whole group instruction, story time and center time.
The rug is cozy, warm, comfortable and is large enough to allow everyone to sit comfortably!
My students were so excited to see our fun rug when they arrived to school. They immediately wanted to roll around on it.
There's going to be so much learning happening in our new space and I'm excited to see my students grow.”

Funded Sep 7, 2022Thank you so much for your generous contribution to our classroom. My students have been excited to engage with the playdough and markers in class. They have been able to make letters with the dough that we are focusing on and express themselves through art activities.
Our Pre-K students are strengthening their fine motor muscles as they manipulate the dough during center time. This will help them with their fine motor tasks during instructional time to include writing and cutting.
We are more than grateful for you and we are excited about all of the future possibilities using our nee playdough and markers.”

Funded Aug 11, 2022Thank you so much for your generous contribution to our classroom. The light table is a HUGE hit in our science center! The students have enjoyed exploring and learning about shapes and colors each day. They have also enjoyed creating structures with the translucent tiles.
They amount of socialization that is going on in this center, that wasn't always a fan favorite is amazing. The students enjoy sharing their ideas with each other.
I can't wait to see how these new center activities evolve over the year.
We appreciate you!”

Funded Oct 22, 2021Thank you so much for your generous donations! You allowed me to provide my students with the supplies that will help keep them safe during the COVID and Flu season.
As we watch COVID numbers rise again and our students continue to show up in school each day, it is very important for them to practice good handwashing routines to stay safe. It is equally as important for me to keep our room, including table surfaces and materials disinfected to stop the spread of germs. I owe this to my students and to their families.
The Dial hand soap, paper towels and disinfectant wipes are consumable items that we as teachers can't afford to replenish all year long. Now, with your help, I don't have to worry about how my kids will stay safe in school. We appreciate you!”

Funded Dec 2, 2020Pandemic learning had so many challenges and my Pre-K students performed like champions considering all they had to deal with. Learning from a laptop was not ideal, but my students showed up each day eager and excited. Because of their age, their attention span was very limited and required us to take many breaks to refocus our learning. When we when back in person with a small group of Pre-K students, I noticed they had the same struggles with staying focused on lengthy tasks and also had the extra challenge of wearing a masks.
During both virtual and in person learning, it was important to allow brain breaks for my students. They looked forward to using the musical instruments and rhythm scarves to get up, move and get their energy out! While were in person, it was necessary for students to get a mask break outside. They enjoyed bubble play, chalk play and ball play safely distanced from their peers.
We are so thankful we were able to provide these opportunities for our students and we are thankful for your generous donations.”

Funded Nov 26, 2020Thank you so much for your generous donation to help fund our project. My students have been learning from home for most of the school year and have needed various materials to support our lessons.
The math materials have been a great addition to our math curriculum allowing my students to have hands on experiences through virtual learning. We have been able to play math games with the counting cubes and students have been able to create sets, recognize numbers and compare quantities by using the cubes.
Students have not had many opportunities to use paper and pencil because they have been using devices to submit their work. The pre-k year is so important for teaching fine motor skills and handwriting. Your donations provided my students with pencil shaped stylus pens to practice handwriting, submit drawings and complete other digital assignments.”

Funded Aug 26, 2020Thank you for your generous contribution to help fund our project to present content clearly to my Pre-Kindergarten students. For many of my students, Pre-Kindergarten is their first formal school experience and this year looked very different as these four-year-olds started school virtually. Teaching young children how to transfer information from the board to their paper or activity in front of them is already a hard task, but to do it virtually was even more of a challenge.
This project provided me a large white board easel and markers to display skills being taught large enough for my students to see through Zoom. We use the board to do our daily morning message where students find sight words, letters, numbers and punctuation marks. We also use the easel to complete math assignments as well as letter and number writing tasks.
My students' favorite activity is the Mystery Beginning Sound picture drawing that we do at the end of each week. We all use our white boards to draw a step by step picture of something that begins with our letter of the week. For example, penguin for letter Pp or butterfly for letter Bb. My students get so excited to try to guess what the picture will be as we add a little more detail through each step.
I am so excited to use the easel each day and I am confident that my students can see what is being taught to them.”
