My classroom has traditional desks and a small amount of flexible seating. My students come from diverse backgrounds and most love to relax and read. There are several artists in the group who find every chance they can get to create something beautiful. I work in a Title 1 school where we offer targeted differentiated reading instruction. Everyday we break into small groups. Some groups work on phonics while others work on fluency oar read novels for comprehension. There are three small metal bookcases on the wall, as the months have progressed I have filled them with nonfiction and fiction, but there are so many more good titles that I would love to offer my students. Students are much more relaxed if they can be comfortable while they read. As the school year began, I ordered several stools and soft seats that the fifth graders love, but not everyone gets to use one each day.
