  • Mastering Reading and Math Skills

    Funded Aug 27, 2023

Thank you so much for your continuous support for our students with Autism. Our students require a specialized education to be able to navigate and understand our social world. With the tools and resources available to them through your support, they can surpass the expectations we set for them.

Our students have made great progress with being able to socialize with their peers through taught curriculum that focuses on character building and social cues. The curriculum includes opportunities for students to interact with adults and peers in several ways to enhance their social interactions.

    Thank you!”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Summerall

  • Books for Early Readers

    Funded Mar 30, 2023

It has been an amazing experience watching my students use the tools you gave to our program. As a teacher of students with autism K-5, I recognize each student and their unique level of knowledge and experiences to support their learning.

When the supplies arrived, my students each had the opportunity to pick out a book of their choice to explore. They had such a variety to choose from that each student could find one they were interested in. They wanted to personally thank all their supporters.”

  • Hands-On Learning

    Funded Jan 18, 2023

Wow! What a year of great learning for my TAP kids. This year has been an amazing year of learning about the parts of our body, how a caterpillar turns into a butterfly and how to read about real world issues. The supplies we used to identify body parts were so kid friendly such as the little body that had a brain, heart, liver, kidney, bladder and intestines. The kids were very interested in where the body parts sat in the body as well as which body part did what. As far as the butterfly project, the kids loved watching the butterflies turn from caterpillars to butterflies and then letting them fly away to their new homes. Donors choose has provided so many opportunities for students to experience things they may not have without such generous donations. Thank you to all the donors for making this year the best one yet!”

  • Everyone Loves Books

    Funded Sep 20, 2022

The impact donors make to our education system is tremendous. With my beautiful group of kids with Autism, having a variety of books, sensory toy, learning materials and curriculum makes the difference in what they can experience. In the classroom, the experiences help our students connect better with real world situations. And in the community, our students can better understand the world they live in, how they can contribute and be some a better citizen. We cannot thank you all enough for all you do for our program!”

  • Sensory Needs for my TAP Classroom

    Funded Mar 29, 2022

Thank you all so much for your donations to my classroom. You have made such an impact on my students with all the variety of sensory experiences they get each day. Understanding that each student in my class has a different sensory need throughout the day. Whether it be a squishy hand toy to squeeze, a swing to enjoy the breeze, a wobbly chair so they can constantly be moving or a soothing star light to calm the body it means so much to be able to meet each students immediate need. As a teacher we understand it truly takes a community. Thank you!”

  • Reading Opens an Abundance of Doors.

    Funded Jan 30, 2021

The best part of my job is helping students learn to read. The variety of books are essential in getting students interested in reading. I love being able to have lots of different genre of books that help spark interests in students and give them a curiosity they may not have had previously.

Reading in our classroom looks a lot like what reading at home would look like at bedtime. Our class stays engaged by having the teacher read with expression and have students be able to react during the read. This is important to see what the students are understanding.

Thank you so much from all of my students for bring a new reading world into the classroom. Each students has been able to have some new experience with learning and a new subject to get to know. Books are available to all my students and we are very grateful for your generosity.”

  • Reading for Everyone

    Funded Mar 6, 2020

Thank you again for your generous donations and support to my students reading growth. Reading is such an important part of being able to have a wealth of opportunities to include independent learning as shared in the photos. My students reading growth allowed them to expand that learning to read instructions and build robots which also provided confidence in their technology skills. your support is the reason so many students thrive. We as teachers could not do the continued growth without you. Thank you!!”

Having a variety of books for my students will help them to explore new cultures, world views, and genres. This will help to be better communicators and allow them to share their newly founded experiences with others. Their experiences make great conversation starters with their peers as well as a continued growth in language from all perspectives. Thank you for your support in literacy and building the gaps with our children’s reading. The lessons I would use would help them to predict what the story will be about opening conversations and growing in their knowledge and seeing things from a different perspective.
