Kindergarten Mathematicians!
Funded May 3, 2022We could not have been more excited when our student MathRacks arrived. I knew what was in the box, but I had not yet told my kindergarten students. We have been using one large demonstration MathRack and they love it, but they hadn't been able to try using it on their own.
When I opened the box with them there was a loud, collective "What!". Then they started jumping and pointing to my large MathRack and yelling "It's just like yours! It's just like yours!" One of my students said, "Now we can use them at the same time!" Another student said, "Math is so cool, I love math!"
We all sat on the carpet together and learned how to take care of the MathRacks and how to be careful with the smaller beads. They were in awe of these special math tools.
We have so much fun solving math problems and challenging each other with math games, and these MathRacks help us take those activities to a whole new level. We use these MathRacks for all kinds of different number sense games, modeling our thinking, and problem solving. My students even like to set up challenges for each other with the MathRacks. You have truly made an impact in these students' lives.”

Funded Jul 12, 2018Thank you so much for your generosity! My students have enjoyed flexible seating for the past two years but until now there has been a missing piece. These wobble stools are the perfect fit to complete our classroom.
When my students arrived on the first day they were surprised to find all different kinds of seating and hardly any chairs. They couldn't wait to try out the stools. We made a very big deal about how special they are and each child took a turn on the stools. They were an instant hit! My students love sitting on them when they are reading, writing, playing math games, building, or doing just about anything. The can sit still, rock, tip forward, or even twist a little bit. They often move without realizing it. But the best part is that they are still completely focused on what they are doing. This is especially helpful for my little ones who just can't sit still. They don't have to!
Thank you again for being willing to help us out. We couldn't be happier. You have made an impact on this class and all of my future classes. Thanks for letting us be excited, happy kids and hardworking students at the same time.”

We Need a Little Wiggle Room
Funded Aug 1, 2016I cannot thank you enough for your generosity and support in creating an active and fun learning space for my students. From the very first day my kindergrtners have been excited about using their special seating.
I have set up five different working tables in our classroom. We have a stability ball table, a chair table with fidget bands, a kneeling pillow table, a kneeling wiggle seat table, and a standing table. Each table allows for a different type of movement and sense of comfort. We do not have assigned seats. My students are allowed to work at any table throughout the day. We do most of our whole-class lessons on the carpet and then I send a few students at a time to choose seats when it is time to work independently. These seating options have been extremely helpful with my very active kindergrtners. They can keep moving even while they are working.
My students love the different tables! The stability balls are definitely the class favorite. This is even the table where students appear to be the most focused. However, everyone in the class chooses different tables at different times. They are learning how to make responsible choices and consider which seats help them do their best work, which seats will help them depending on how active they are feeling, and which classmates would be best to work with at the moment. My class is truly having a great time learning everyday.”
