Creating "ZEN" in Our Room
Funded May 13, 2022Thank you for your heartfelt donations! Due to your generosity, my students will have the opportunity to engage the "right brain" in our very ZEN classroom environment. As an Art & Photography teacher, this is extremely important! My students enter our sacred space with a variety of experiences and energies! With the decorations, fountains, and lighting, they are able to decompress from any external factors that affect their ability to give their Personal Best! Again, thank you! We are blessed!”

"Saddling Up" with Stellar Supplies!
Funded Sep 6, 2019Thank you for your generous donation! Due to your generosity, my students will have the opportunity to use interactive notebooks to experience depth with our ELA curriculum. My students are very visual, hands-on learners who enjoy being able to cut, paste, and "feel" their curriculum. Many of my students came to school without the necessary materials and supplies for class. Your much-appreciated donation was able to fill the void for my students who were in that unfortunate situation. Again, thank you! We are blessed!”

BMSA ROARing Readers!
Funded Oct 24, 2018Thank you for your generous donation! Due to your generosity, my students will have the opportunity to use LexiaCORE5 to experience depth with our ELA curriculum. My students are very visual and interactive learners who already have shown interest in interactive Scholastic and Discovery Education videos that I have shown in the classroom. They will now be able to engage in literacy-based opportunities. Currently, we have 16 iPads in our classroom, which will provide ample opportunities for my students to practice on this program. I am so excited to explore the possibilities of LexiaCORE5 with them in the classroom and at home!”

Funded Oct 25, 2017The playground materials my students received have had SUCH a positive impact for our entire grade level! At Learning Breaks, the children play with jump ropes, footballs, basketballs, bubbles, and frisbees! Seeing them synergize with their peers from the other two classrooms is so endearing! They take initiative to teach the other children jump rope chants using the book "Anna Banana." I am most proud of the ownership they demonstrate over the materials. Not only do they regularly disinfect the materials, but they also clean the cart that houses all of the playground tools. Again, we are so grateful for your generous donations and caring hearts!”

"Gone With the Wind"... and Water!
Funded Sep 6, 2017With our school's transition to the Next Generation Science Standards, my 2nd graders have thoroughly enjoyed these literature resources to support Earth science! Their weathering/erosion, geography, earthquake, and volcano books proved essential for them to investigate and gather research in order to support their project based learning! They were able to use the knowledge acquired through these books to create digital books! They also designed a digital "Minecraft"-ish world in which they demonstrated erosion control solutions! Thank you again for your support!”

Funded Jan 11, 2017Thank you again for your donation that made "Wiggly, Wobbly Wonderers!" possible! My students are able to focus on their daily tasks and still keep their bodies in motion. The ability to sustain movement in their core, as well as flex their legs has led to an increase in student engagement! We even had the privilege of a local news station coming into our classroom community and filming a segment on flexible seating. The children were incredibly excited to see themselves on television using the wobble chairs, and modeling appropriate classroom behavior!”

Can You Hear Me Now?! Gooooood!
Funded Oct 13, 2016Thank you so much for your donations! My students have been using their over-the-ear headphones for months now, and absolutely love them! Even my students who began the year using earbuds from home have transitioned to their comfortable and adjustable headphones. They are able to stay focused while using iPads and computers because they do not have to constantly worry about earbuds falling out or headphones sliding off. The most exciting thing for most of the children is that they can adjust the volume output with a knob on the ear cushion. This keeps them from having to adjust the volume with the buttons on the iPad. As durable as these headphones are, I cannot wait to use them for years and years to come! Thank you again!”

Magic Treehouse Books Enrich Science!!
Funded Dec 23, 2015Thank you for your generous donation! Due to your generosity, my students will have the opportunity to use the non-fiction texts, "Earthquake in Early Morning" & "Blizzard of the Blue Moon" to experience depth with our science-based ELA curriculum. Currently, we only use non-fiction texts to enhance our curriculum. My students, however, have already shown a heightened level of interest in fictional texts. They will now be able to enjoy fiction. I am so excited to explore these chapter books with them!”

K'NEX for Real-World STEM Connections
Funded Oct 6, 2015Thank you for giving my students the opportunity to use K'NEX to experience depth and hands-on engineering with our science curriculum. In addition to the Discovery Education videos that I show in the classroom, they now have K'NEX for enrichment, as well.
Due to the fact that we only have limited resources for engineering our classroom, I often show bridge videos in a whole group setting on my LCD projector. The students love this format; however, they also love to dive right in and apply what they've learned by physically building bridges. With K'NEX bridge kits, they will now have this opportunity!”
